Kill... Kill... Kill Them All! The New Decapre General Thread

Does Decapres lp psycho sting have any invisibility? I have read at some places that it does and others that it don’t and I don’t really know how to test if it really does.

The biggest problem that I am having right now is not getting predictable during my approaches; I tend to rely to much on Razor Edge Slicer which is easily punished. I get really flustered when I get down-backed, and I am just not comfortable with how to use Fox Tail at this point. If anyone has any tips on how to apply offensive pressure or open people up, I would be most appreciative. I’ve only been playing her for a little over a week, and I love the character, but I’m just trying to be less one dimensional and harder to read.

lp is strike invincible, mp is projectile invincible and hp is throw invincible. ex is fully invincible.

lol “unintentional”, very funny

anyway, it’s great news if they really change it back, i sure wasn’t hoping for it

Even if the change sticks (a post after yours says the JP blog claims it was unintentional/will be reverted) the damage loss into hands isn’t the end of the world. Hands has -fantastic- corner push and it’s much easier to maintain pressure after the knockdown from it. I actually do most of my combo strings into hands instead of DP partially because it keeps me safe if I drop my combo, but largely because I want to get my opponent cornered. I’ve had a fair amount of matches where the momentum snowballed in my favor because I landed 2 L hands, cornered my opponent, and pressured them from there.

Yeah I actually think that ending combos in air throw, hands, or slide is actually better than dp if you don’t want maximum damage.

The problem is that this isn’t context neutral, sometimes the max damage sting combo does 100ish more damage than the other enders depending on character and you’re better off ending in sting, then whiffing another one for meter.

In corner once double dp combos come into play it’s really no contest.

GREAT NEWS!

The changes were unintended and Capcom will be fixing them. USD will be posting something on the front page related to this soon.

EDIT: Late. But yeah, USD’s coming up with a proper translation of the jp blog.

I should have specified that it’s not terribad. Having that corner carry and chip is pretty awesome. And even thought lp hands only does 80 damage or so, it’s still better than bipson’s scissor kick by 10 damage while having similar effects (safe, corner, chip).

Translation by USD.

Does the brady USF4 bible have a picture of decapre’s hitboxes and hurt boxes? In particular, I wanna know if the hitbox is different on all of decapre’s psycho stings.

Great news if they revert back! Being able to Ultra 2 punish off a 4 frame start up move, from any position of the screen without charge will turn the game balance hugely in Decapre’s favour again.

Unrelated note: Anyone manage to unlock Alt 1 for decapre (one of her best costume IMO) on PC version? I have the GFWL version of the SFXT, and it doesn’t unlock the costume… SAD. Appreciate any help, thanks!

I think that was patched.

Anyone else getting really damn tired of trying to scramble through fireballs and ending up reappearing JUST at the tail end of the thing and getting hit? Grr.

Wouldn’t it be easier to Razor’s Edge Slicer under the fireball or EX Spiral Arrow through it?

Razors edge specifically does this to me all the time.

Biggest laugh I’ve had all morning.

From a guy claiming to be the #20 ranked Blanka on Steam (as it that means anything at all).

EDIT:
On a different note, anyone else other than me actually using her super for damage? During casuals last Wednesday, I was actually getting much mileage from rapid dagger into super (specifically nj.HP, cr.MP, H Dagger xx Super after 5 or 6 hits for around 460 damage).

Quick! Call Scrubquotes and/or DSP!

I just use super for chip out wins. Otherwise red focus seems better almost all of the time.

I like the positioning and damage that super gives me. Once I hit it, I usually have my opponent near, or at the corner, which is IMO where Decapre wants her opponents to be. Though I admit, the nj.HP combo is usually better against characters without a decent AA or who’s aren’t fully invulnerable - nothing like bullying 'Gief because lariat doesn’t work on it.
