Kill... Kill... Kill Them All! The New Decapre General Thread

I don’t know if this has been posted yet anywhere but I recently discovered that if the spacing and timing is right, you can air throw people out of her Ultra 1, which is awesome.

sorry to be an ass

but that is day tw… hell is like day minus 5

from the moment that you understand that u1 gives you float knockdown you should have known that you could combo into throw after u1

really im sorry :frowning:

Just so you guys know, you have a Psycho Sting recovery frame glitch. Just happened to me a bit ago and I was like what the fuck?

seen it with fei , adon , abel so far. [robably universal. this char is great

still lovin how overhead is like 100% grounded, will get thrown and low shorted when shes visibly off the ground

yeah overhead’s hitbox/hurtbox do not line up with the animation at all.

don’t even want airborne, but would like it to not have such a large hurtbox horizontally and vertically. You have to condition someone a lot to land it because of how far she lunges forward.

im happy with the overhead either way

you dont want a 40dmg overhead do you?

I just want EX cannon strike to be an overhead, but I guess that’s asking too much.

havent been able to find this anywhere, what is the recovery on ex scramble mp ground pound?

14 frames, all invincible. reddit.com/r/SF4/comments/27f1zp/decapre_frame_data/

any ideas on how to deal with armor wakeups like abel/balrog, or is it just like throw and ex ground pound

can someone explain how to properly do empty jump mixups? i’ve never come across a player who doesn’t option select throw with block on safejumps

When you don’t answer someone’s questions why do you get mad if they make a new thread regardless of the fact that’s it’s been answered! Some people don’t have to to look through pages of threads and if he said he came back from the fields then that means he’s in the military cut the guy some slack no body here is a grand master of the character lets all remember this

im not sure what are you asking here.

Let me try

empty jumps mix ups works against ppl that understand what are you doing to them ie “oh i see this guy is safe jumping me / baiting me so im going to stand block this set up / backdash the hell out”

so first you need to show them that your set up is legit ie. they cant use reversal [safe jump works] nor cant use backdash [safe jump+OS] then when this situation is completely understood by the two players then you can mix up with empty jumps because you know that the other guy is afraid of the OS/safe jump then when you actually hit them low the fun begins, now he has to choose to use either reversal, stand block late tech or low block late cr tech. Thats what is called yomi layer 2

edit i hope you understand the fact that safe jumps as a definition are meaty, yes there are safe jumps that are not meaty but those work against slow reversals and what not. And the empty jump into low works better the “meatier” you can make it if that makes sense lol.

as for the other guy yezus something idk what to say about that as i dont follow wtf are you saying sorry

what i mean is… let’s say i safe jump someone and they block it. during the blockstun (or a timing where blockstun would occur if they blocked something) of the jumpin they also input throw. so if i jump attack they block it, if i empty jump i get thrown immediately on landing (thrown out of cr.lk that is). i don’t quite understand how to convince them to not input throw during the block stun

yeah thats abusing auto block to protect the teching

you just need to have a airborne move to cancel on landing or a airborne normal (cl.mk from rose) or the cr.lk needs to be meaty

as we dont have such special or normal try this

sweep, hold uf, land into cr.lk

is meaty enough so they cant jump out nor wake up throw

like i said the meatier the better

it’s better with a manually timed setup.

say i’m doing b.throw walk j.hp on a character with a slower reversal i can just walk slightly less then do empty jump cr.lk.

It’s also really good after rapid daggers in the corner. As you can neutral jump and if you don’t hit a button you will be out of throw range. You can just low forward xx daggers again for the person trying to auto pilot wakeup throw.

crosscounter decapre tut is hilarious. watch kbrad mess up hands for 8 minutes

Couple of questions:

  1. What are you guys typically using your meter for? FADC uppercuts? EX pound/break? Spiral arrows? Or confirming hp hands into super?
  2. Dive kicks, at least the way I’m using them, seem way too telegraphable to start offense safely. Any advice in terms of working them into setups? Feinting only goes so far against most players.
  3. What are some good frame traps with her? Haven’t played Cammy or any other charge character in SF4 with regularity so I’m unsure what works well with her.

meter everything cause i always have a billion bars

normal divekicks are pretty butt especially in neutral.

frametraps, look at her frame data.

Regarding frame traps, well her overhead isn’t very good, her normals cover lots of situations with several having frame advantage, and her throw range is short. So if you’re playing against anybody with half a brain, they’ll mostly push buttons only if they fear a throw when you’re almost point blank and things look fishy. Otherwise most of my opponents seem to just try to backdash away or otherwise avoid cr.mk range as best they can.

I used to main Cammy so I’m used to leaving small frame traps so that either they’ll get reckless with DP, become open to tic throws, or lol they get hit by a frame trap. Decapre doesn’t have quite that umph factor because she doesn’t have a move as good as EX divekick to back her up. Cammy can walk around in front of her opponent’s nose almost freely. Still, lights into cl.mp combo into lots of things, and if they are still in cr.mk range and can’t punish light hands on block, spam that. It makes for a very safe situation that pushes the corner and builds lots of meter.

As for divekicks, as far as I can tell they’re mostly just for getting Decapre in with the opponent blocking. I’ve landed a few metered divekicks, but on the whole it’s just a “now I’m next to you with some frame advantage” move. Not something to with any frequency at all.
