I’m aware that most characters have something dumb that’s basically an online only tactic. Also I slightly disagree about Oni. While the character is definitely good it’s not just Demon Slash that makes him a Netplay Warrior’s wet dream it’s pretty much his entire moveset. Capcom should have just called him Onlini.

I… what? HK slash is a good tool, but it loses to everything, same with EX. His fireball sucks, stomp is used in the same vain as Ryu ex tatsu (beats crouch tech/stand throw) but is also punishable on block, his DP is good but I mean, it’s a shoto DP.

As for Decapre, like I said above, it has a purpose if you use it meaty properly, it’ll be completely safe. It’s not the best tool she has but it has it’s purpose. You could probably use it to cross your opponent up the first time, and then the second time fake it into spiral arrow and get the full combo. Random break’s aren’t good but neither are random slashes from Oni’s, random tiger knees from Sagat, random soul spirals from Rose, random tornado throws from Abel, I can keep going if I need to.

Basically don’t shit on a character because people online use a tool wrong, or in a gimmicky way. That doesn’t mean it’s that tools only purpose.

I was never shitting on the tool. I was simply implying that seeing someone overuse it was likely a sign of a shitty player. Watching most netplay warriors is to me like watching someone try to use a butter knife as a screw driver. Sure it kind of works but the butter knife was never really intended to be used that way and you’re likely to damage it in doing so.

Anyone bothered to test who target combo MP stinger works on midscreen? Only wiffs on adon so far.

I can’t not use dual ultra. I hate the low damage it deals, but the U1 mixups, combined with an AA ultra that can also go through fireballs, is just too good to completely lockdown opponents in the corner and even midscreen.

i was doing double for the same reason but i found that i tend to not use U2 to punish like i should so i started taking U1 for the damage and i find myself able to combo into it more reliably for some reason i can’t get the AA U2 to come out most of the time after stinger or ground pound setups and it made feel like i was trying to ultra more than just using it naturally wheras i like to hands alot as is so i U1 almost thoughtlessy when near the corner and that is some good damage

Ultra’s are definitely matchup dependent with Decapre. The free punishes and option limiting that U2 gives shouldn’t be weakened just for the availability of U1 in some matchups. Same for the opposite of not sacrificing U1 damage to have U2 in matchups where it won’t help you, ie matchups where U2 doesn’t limit options/ punish anything effectively.

For me, U1 mixups are basically a guilty pleasure. It’s becoming more obvious that U2 is better with every match. If the opponent can’t teleport out or something then I’ll usually go for it because I’M GONNA LAND IT IN A MIXUP AND IT’S GONNA BE GREAT.

It’s been alreay said. If you do MK~LK+LP from mid-screen it only seems like a good kara throw because she really moves forward a bit, but it’s only possible with far st.MK, once you get close enough for the throw to connect you get close st.MK, wich doesn’t move you forward at all.

HP kara is possible, but the distance you gain is insignificant (but you get a nice sound effect, tough)

Her punish will change according to what you block. This are is what I go with:

  • c.mp , c.mp/c.mk xx RES/h.stinger
  • U2 works vs fireballs at 3/4 characters distance, further will miss and you can U2 AA for blocked DPS ou further jump ins

After a focus crumple I go with:

  • s.hp , c.mp xx stinger
  • s.mp , c.hp , h.stinger(it’s a link not a cancel and it’s character specific)

EDIT: about your mixup be careful with that, lk scramble > hp follow up is 17f on recovery and you’ll be in a world of pain :b

Meaty cr.mp, cr.mk xx lp hands has been working pretty well for me.

You have to mix up so many different buttons because if your frametraps become predictable people will know when to mash, when to backdash, etc.

It’s not “do this frame trap” it’s a matter of understanding her framedata enough to vary what you do constantly.

how does additional hitstun on ch work on multihit moves? does first or last hit gain it? also i should probably stop trying to punish lp dps with cl hp if i dont wanna continue having a shit time

first hit only gets the damage/stun bonus.

blocked dp punish depends on character. i kinda hate cl.hp in general though. that 100 stun is bad.

yeaah it’s not too hot but i don’t feel like investing time in the one frame links right now. have more urgent things to stop being garbage at.
