Yea, stuff like that only works if they choose to try and block. Nothing’s forcing them to guess, so they’ll just DP. I don’t think you can fake it and recover in time to block their reversal with that set up either.
You can use LP and avoid any reversal DP.
Maining Makoto, Im just used to “bait” reversal DP when doing mixup ^^
Btw, i made this video just to show that weird thing with backthrow. To see if someone could find some things with it
The alternative costumes, no the SFxTK ones, are only avaiable for US folks who pre-ordered the game?
Yes, but I believe people who didn’t pre-order on PSN got them, too.
Hummm…I’m from EU, so I dont think we got them by pre-order.
yep, free to download on eu psn if you played the game within the first week
Smish.
So I haven’t seen this posted here but I did some math yo. HP break after scramble has 9 Active frames, and is also -9 on block or so right? So the later the active frame you hit them with, the less negative you are. This is why K Brad kept trying to hit people with the last active frame on knockdown, because you’ll be either neutral or -1. Now I’m not good at testing things/finding them out myself, but I feel like we could probably use this to get a good meaty on someone, after baiting the reversal once or twice, and then maybe figure out other set ups for it from there!
I skimmed the thread, but I didn’t see anything pertaining to this. What OS can we use to punish backdash? I’m getting destroyed by people back dashing the crap out of me. C.HK doesn’t seem to reach to well sometimes.
you can os hands by doing the inputs slower than you would when cancelling
An easy meaty break setup would be after backthrow. Just try to hit them with meaty break as they’re getting up.
I Just loled
I usually just os far hk \o/
I played some Decapre last night and found the meaty ground pound to be pretty useful. No setups though. I’d just drop them on their heads and try to eyeball it. Seemed faiiiirly easy to get it down to -1 to -4ish which isn’t safe but it’s better than just getting blasted. Unless I’m Juri and can just cr.mk under the followup sting I tend to let it go unpunished way more than I want because I guess other people are doing the same thing and have no shame about letting the reversal rip.
shout outs to xBossHawgKingx for sending hate mail after MM match.
I appreciate that :hp: Scramble break exists. It lets me know which Decapre players play Ultra Street Fighter IV and which Decapre players play Online Fighter IV.
basic pressure string
2-3 light normals (based on starting distance from opponent) - usually crLP , cr LK, maybe sLP
(can mix in tick grab here of course)
then either far MP xx HK scramble dive to go back into pressure (or LP fake to bait a dp) or far MP HP target combo if you see focus
or crMK xx LP hands which beats focus + them trying to walk back
obv you can do instant ex spiral arrow for bunch o + frames
as for HP break, it’s mostly there for the ex scramble armor break imo. for people who decide to focus every time they see neutral scramble from sort of far, they can get caught by this into a lot of potential damage.
The same thing can be said about a lot of moves in the game… Oni’s Demon Slash, Chun-Li’s Hazanshu or her DF + HK… not to mention Elena’s EX overhead, that’s hard to react even offline…
Frame rate on U1 blocked is horrendous. Literally slows the entire game down during block animation and leads to an unfair advantage for Decapre on mixup during this.
