If you were subscribed to me on youtube, you would know the answer to that question
Tsubaki Yayoi, this cool character who is bottom-tier in actual gameplay, but SS-tier in my heart.
Amaterasu is also SS-tier in my heart. She is the only MvC3 character to be this high, though, and there’s no S-tiers from that game. There is a legendary SSS-tier, but there is only one character in it. This character is prominently displayed on my stick art, which has appeared in one video that I made where I did a hand cam thing, but I will also just tell you that it’s Venom, from Guilty Gear.
ALSO WHAT DO YOU MEAN TRAGIC DESIGN Tsubaki’s pretty awesome! I really like the eye motif even if they hat is kinda silly, since it fits with the “She’s blind, but Izayoi allows her to see” thing.
Really though, the flash is what attracted her to me. I like cancelling specials to specials, and the dynamics of proration and install levels mean playing her feels a lot like recording a combo video. It’s great.
…That sounds sarcastic. To be honest, bleeding people for 5k-6k combined with a really scary oki game made her pretty unfair but what they did to her everything made me a sad squirrel. I guess it’s an excuse to level up my footsie game.
As for “tragic character design”, I was referring to her story/background.
Tsubaki’s story/background
[details=Spoiler]The blindness thing goes the other way around. Izayoi is making her blind. The weapon “steals the light” from its user. Damn near every good character in the game tells her this but her drive to save Jin makes her ignore those warnings.
Tsubaki’s being used so hard by Hazama. Her weapon not only steals her eyesight, it also has this effect of preventing the “observers” from seeing what’s going on in the timeline. This allows Hazama to get away with everything he’s doing which makes her a pawn in his plans.
She’s ordered by Hazama (her superior) to kill her childhood friends, Jin and Noel. She doesn’t end up doing either and she would have died at the hands of Jin if Makoto didn’t mess up the order of events in that specific timeline. Thanks to Hazama, she now despises her former best friend, Noel.
Her bad ending has her going straight up blind as she collapses in the hands of Noel. Her good ending has her going straight up blind, being trolled by Hazama AND hating her best friend Noel for the rest of her life (or until further notice).
…not to mention being the only surviving child of 9 due to complications from inbreeding.[/details]
The only person more tragic is Lambda (my other main, oddly enough).
Her actual design itself is really cool. She occasionally spouts cheesy lines (makes sense after watching her story) but the light-based attacks are really cool. The eye on her hat is cute if you ignore what it’s actually doing. It reacts to what’s happening to her and looks extra cute when she’s chibi-fied.
If the :a2: is mistimed but you continue with the input of the combo, you can actually dash short, jump, and go for an air throw. If the opponent techs, there’s this really stupid chance that he’ll land right into a log as the break away happens.
currently playing She-Hulk/Thor/Ammy and I freakin LOVE this team, so much synergy! Anyways, here’s the question:
After Mighty Punish (Thor’s grab hyper) I try to DHC trick with Ammy, but I haven’t been able to get past the following:
Mighty Punish > Vale of Mist > Sword Stance > :s: > j[:h:] j[:h:] > land > j[:h:] > land > [:l:] Thunder Edge > :h: > Thunder Edge
This does like 688k damage but I’m pretty sure I could do better on Ammy’s part. Any tips would be highly appreciated
I mean that’s the classy superjump hitconfirm, j.H to j.M j.3H. It’s cool. This is doing specific stuff to go for it early in a combo while it still works.
This is a cool loop I created using Amaterasu’s slowdown hyper with Magneto. As far as I know, this only works on bigger characters (Sentinel, Thor, Nemesis, etc.)
Sun goddess general’s warning: attempting to escape the corner may be hazardous for your health
For some reason I can’t figure out, the second combo in all of these here has the opponent drastically speed up especially after being hit by Charged Thunder Edge for no apparent reason, meaning you can’t go for another set of 6Hs. Weeeeeird!
