Kibbles n' Bits: The Amaterasu Combo Thread

She’s always had a problem taking orders. She tends to nap in your face if she doesn’t like what you’re saying/doing.

Practice more DP motions I guess? If you get an airdash… input the motion for Okami Shuffle again.

As for what you’re thinking… eww…

How can Amaterasu best capitalize off of a hard knockdown? Not only am I using Vajra assist, but after a throw, it seems like I should (maybe not actually) be able to do something more than Okami Shuffle…?

And do you have to already have your glaive equipped to do so or can you switch from reflector to glaive and still do it fast enough?

Thanks!

She can’t really. You have to be quick to follow up, and probably already be in Glaive.

Ammy can combo after forward ground throws, and there is always a follow up in the of course. At least the easiest to anyway.

What is the most damaging Ammy combo, without assist or x-factor?

I run her on anchor and really want to come up with some more advanced combos.

I don’t like her on anchor, though everyone else does apparently. But if you are, just go from Solar Flare > Thunder Edge combos. You don’t have to do very much in Lv.3 XFactor, and with the apparent loops she has, just learn those.

BUT, if you don’t have XFactor, just do a few of the Glaive combos shown in my Elemental Beauty combo video. Glaive is damaging and sexy. So sexy.

After a reflector counter, I’ve been doing this combo: Dash Up foward, switch to glaive, OTG with dive, switch to whip stance right as soon as the dive hits, air.H, land, S(launch), air.H, then finish off with a super or do a TAC.

It’s easy and reliable.

Not really sure if this is the best combo, but this is what I’ve come up with.

What do you guys do after a counter?

i honestly dont know any good ways to follow up a counter with ammy solo since there’s too much HSD and you use up your ground bounce early, with the disc you could probably use her jump canceled H normals to get a small combo on the ground going before launching them into okami shuffle. You can also do st.H xx weapon change M into 1 rep of the thunder edge loop and launch into okami shuffle but i think this is corner only.

I personally use dormammu’s purification assist to follow up the counter which lets me get 650K.

You don’t use up your ground bounce if you do Glaive Dive -> Glaive Chop after the counter because you’re allowing Glaive Chop to finish, resetting your ground bounce.

Glaive Chop does kill HSD a bit though.

Glavie Chop doesn’t restore ground bounce in ultimate :frowning:

It still does. However, all 8 hits (?) MUST connect. Glaive Chop causes hard knockdown otherwise. It was changed to prevent her from linking OS in the corner.

Damn, vaxtin is black? Definitely didn’t see that coming. But now that I think of it, I never really stopped to think what you might look like, I just always pictured your avatar talking. Hmmmmm, I wonder how people picture me?

I thought he said he was a wolf.

I am one. http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs51/f/2009/278/d/7/Vaxtin_Easy_Reference_Sheet_by_Vaxtin_DarkWolf.jpg [Kappa]

ALSO! New combo from me. Probably one of the last few ones. Not much else to do.

Yeah, I thought you rolled that way lol. That and I remembered seeing the username “VaxtintheWolf” a while back. If it means anything, my opinion of you hasn’t changed.

You’re still a scrub.

(nawjk you’re a cool guy)

ive been trying out hit confirms against airborne opponents with glaive, if they’re not higher than a normal jump then j.H has enough hitstun to bring them down to the ground but can someone explain to me why this seems to add a ton of HSD? Her normal glaive combos dont seem to work without dropping attacks to even out the HSD, but they all work fine if i do them against a standing opponent with the exact same combo starter.

HSD changes and the reduction of hit-stun on all of Ammy’s normals have something to do with it. Then again, her abare has always been a bit lackluster. The changes did nothing to help.

In general, if you do get a hit-confirm on an air-borne opponent, shave off some attacks to guarantee the damage. You can always end the combo for a reset or put them in a better position for you to harass them further.

i get that her hit stun got nerfed, i just dont understand why the exact same attacks cause more HSD on an airborne character compared to a grounded character, o well…

While comboing, ground attacks eventually shave off 5 frames of hitstun from ground attacks and 1 frame from air attacks. Air attacks reduce hitstun by 5 frames from ground and air attacks.

In a combo, you want to keep your opponent grounded for as long as possible to reduce the effect of air hitstun decay. Since you begin hitting the opponent in the air rather than on the ground, air hitstun gets decayed faster.
