I used the keyboard until I dug out my old original Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad. Best pad ever.

I played Metal Gear with that on the ps2, made it very… well yeah I couldn’t get past the first areas.
After playing offline with a stick and then playing online with a stick, I finally see why so many people hate playing on kaillera.
When I was using a keyboard I didn’t really understand what was so bad about it. But after using a stick for awhile now, I understand why many people hate playing on Kaillera.
Unfortunenately for me, I dont own a stick, and have no DECENT arcades in my area. (If anyone knows of a good place in San Antonio, Texas to play in an arcade, let me know.)
So the only offline gaming I get for arcades is in a shitty run down theatre, playing MvC2(which I suck at in comparison to most of you guys, but good enough to destroy local “competition”) against retards that think hitting all the buttons really fast will help them win.
In a small twist though, since my keyboard is set up as P2 (in arcades) I’m awkwardly drawn to use a stick that way too, though it really makes no difference…
I’ve been using keyboard since…I was playing Super Punch out and Chrono Trigger on Znes back in middle school…so I’m accustomed… I guess.
Anyway, as I’ve asked randomly, would playing on a gamepad or stick improve what I’m capable off? (online and ofF)

mas super pro all the way here… they’re arcade games they’re meant to be played with arcade controls.
as for using keyboards, that shit can be a major advantage… once you’re used to it it’s so much faster. as for 720’s I used to fight this zang kb player who used to pull off 360’s and 720’s every time. .
