- How can one play similar to Justin’s style without having negative responses sent back to you?
I can’t play like that at my local arcade without having rotten tomatoes being thrown at me…let alone ashtrays (a little overexaggerating but you get the point…Pyro in Japan movie).
Experimenting with EC style is hard without the actual EC players that play like this…I only have Amir to practice with as he formerly lived in EC and used to play with the likes of Eddie Lee and Justin. (Don’t tell him I said his Rolento’s shitty…

My basic point is that I cannot practice playing EC style in the arcade without having someone walking away from the machine. The only times that are relevant are in tourneys where $ is actually on the line.
I can see how it’s gay but being gayer means low strong with ken only does 90 damage and comes out at a whopping 6 frames…gee, that means other stuff can beat it with the 7 frame lag afterwards…even tho Ken’s just doing low strongs all day…
Come to think of it, Ken takes a lot of work strategically and in the mind game part, but he has enough mobility and good enough moves to just mash on low roundhouse to actually look like you know what you’re doing. Whee, I can whiff a jumping roundhouse and then Ume-shoryu on landing only to see the other guy just block and do either 95% damage with one makoto grab or an over 50% genei-jin combo or a near 100% kill off of one low fierce into triple aegis setups with urien…whee, random uppercuts with Ken is fun, but only if it’s 2 frames startup…
(Think Daigo vs KO at Evo…uppercut dive kick wrong way)

Basically the only reason people think Ken is easier to learn is cause most players are already used to the shoto style gameplay. But it tends to completely fall apart in the face of shoto players of intermediate skill and higher.
Play however you want. I’m using Chun from now on anyway. She’s a dumb boring whore.
