Dash back and throw or jump before him and tatsu. These both work for me.
jump back fierce beats it clean unless its ex then he’ll get a counter take a good chunk of life, also if ur being predictable with your fireballs and you will get headstomped to death
To kara throw, it’s kind of pressing f+mk and lp+lk at the same time, with f+mk being MARGINALLY ahead. If you know what I mean. Just practice it and you’ll get it eventually. As for combo-ing into sweep, it’s mad unreliable. Maximillian Masters thinks it’s bugged and I kind of agree with him. It’s weird really, it seems like jab to Ultra 2 seems way easier than to sweep.

any new uses for target combo yet? Hit’s crouching opponents and stands them up, but I can’t find anywhere to put it in my game. At least back + mk can be in combo strings now…
was just going to ask if target combo was usable now myself. I like how it hit’s crouch now, but it is it a decent punisher like in 3S?
I’d also like to know about the target combo, as it’s fairly simple I’ve been using it to punish (into f.dp) whiffed dp’s but is there anything better/simpler to use?
For punishes I’ve stuck to standing roundhouse, seems like it comes out faster now.
target combo is good for a meety and afer a crossup mk, then u can fireball fadc u2,but those are the only times i use it
kens best punish with no bar is .rh rh tatsu with bar s,rh ex tatsu
How do you crossup with air tatsu (regular or EX)? Do you have to kara air tatsu or can you do it normally also?
What’s the deal with st.lp into cr.hk? I could have sworn I pulled this off once, but according to the frame data it should be impossible, and I can’t for the life of me recreate it in training mode. I did Ryu’s typical crouching jabs into standing jab into sweep combo and it worked against Dhalsim. Was it just a case of the opponent not blocking the sweep, or does it reall combo?

And I can only do lk air tatsu cross up and EX, I don’t even know if the others work. EX is worth learning as it looks like a normal jump in until the EX part. Just hit up training mode and learn the spacing, thats what I did. Once you have it in your head, try it out in some matches, but don’t make it a priority. I did it once for EX cross up tatsu into Ultra, and since then it stuck. I can do it at will.

i’m pretty new to fighting games and could use some help for the normal trial stage 4(03/05).
I have to do: j.HK HK Shoryuken Shoryureppa
I can’t pull it off, alway stuck on the Shoryureppa. I know that there is something called buffering. But even with knowing this, i can’t manage to do the combo. Maybe some experienced player can give me some tips?

Why do people do C.LK > S.LP > C.MK xx tatsu instead of C.LK > C.LP > C.MK xx tatsu? Is the link easier?
Also, I was watching some Youtube tutorial videos and one of them mentioned learning C.MP into kara throw, but I didn’t quite understand the strategy behind it, what you are supposed to do once you’ve trained them to try to tech the throw after C.MP.
Are you supposed to combo from step kick? What tricks can you do with step kick? I’m not sure how to use it other than as just a random poke.
You are using the motion from the shoryuken as part of the motion for the Shoryureppa. So you’d do “F, D, DF, Punch, D, DF, F, Punch” as fast as you can. The Shoryureppa will come out in the middle of the shoryuken animation.
I set all 3 punches on R2,HP on R1,all 3 kicks on L2 and HK on L1 on the PS3 pad.
Is there a better setting for the PS3 pad to use Ken?
The link is easier from a st.lp but it does whiff on some people crouching.
