Ken Okizeme - YouTube Lessons - New Videos on a Regular Basis

Those who can’t do, teach.

Here’s my Ken okizeme tech. In the end, simple mixups and using your movement to confuse people is best and practically your only option versus competent players, but if you make the right reads this videos will help you do some crazy shit and get a lot of damage. This tech is so good it’ll fly right over the heads of almost all stream commentators. Dig it.

Either a roundhouse tatsu, or corner throw loop video is next. Long weekend coming up - expect a few videos next week. I will eventually cover all of Ken’s knockdowns.

AT A GLANCE, EASILY PRINTABLE REFERENCE OF SETUPS FOR ALL KDs INCLUDING V-TRIGGER
Video coming soon.

Hey good videos, keep it up and thanks. Some of these im definitely adding to my repertoire.

Great job, I really liked the text documentation you did on your new HP shoryu vid.

HK tatsu okizeme

Didn’t do a safe jump setup for this one even though they do exist because the knockdown is so short, you are better off aiming for a quick rise / back rise and then adjusting as necessary in case they stay down.

post MK tatsu - 2 or 3 hits, and MK tatsu, EX SRK mixups

Are you checking these with “After 1st hit” on?

which ones? what would that tell me?

I just checked to see if it makes unusual links possible. if so, it is hitting meaty, and depending on which link becomes possible vs. what is normally possible, I can figure out exactly how much

Great videos! Some very good info here.

This is some great stuff

I’m having issues doing most of these. Alot of my opponents are too smart to not stop the run with a jab or lk but when they do work they work well hehe

You always gotta play the matchup. You can always add an extra layer to a bunch of them by using a different normal… s.LP and s.LK have very high pushback, so take the HP SRK setup. If you expect a quickrise, normally you’ll go in for v-run c.LK to try for a low confirm. If they haven’t been falling for it, if you do s.LP instead you still hit meaty, then just go down-back and do nothing and if they try and tech a throw it’ll whiff and you can punish without having to shimmy. Use s.LK for even more pushback to avoid more stuff, you have to use that one more commonly vs. Dictator because his throw range is so huge

watch for their tech timing, if they are teching super late v-run into neutral jump then get a full jump in combo punish on their whiffed tech. stuff like that. there are a lot of subtle variations you can do on these themes here

this is good stuff! keep it up

I’ve been slowly digesting this thread for weeks now and just wanted to drop a post giving big ups to OP for putting it together.

Glad you guys are finding it helpful. I want to expand it with some more lessons, but my stick’s broken and I’m waiting for some parts to come in before I do some more vids.

are the oki timings the same for VT knockdowns? im thinking of RH tatsu in particular, but curious about any different timings. also general oki off of backthrow.

nope, VT knockdowns are different. You have more time off all the v-trig knockdowns.

I have a reference sheet for that too though … just no video yet. Maybe I’ll have some time this weekend to get the v-trigger vid done
