Colours and shading are nice, but some proportions are off. Head could be bigger (10-15%?) and the wasitline (denoted by his belt) should be lower. The flaps of his top should cover most of his crotch area

But rook’s right. Either that or tone down his arms. Looks like his uppercut would take half of your health. :wasted:

His waist is big too. Helpful critique, not ‘blasting’ critique. Also, reminds me of SNK art.

you should also sort out the forshortening of his legs too, it looks as if he’s bending forward abit and what everybody else said.
but that’s sweet all together.
first of all, ken’s facial expression and the angle of his head are awesome! i love the coloring too. there are some weird proportions going on though and i think it’s due to the confusing angle the rest of his body is in. i drew up a quick sketch over your picture matching the angle of his body to the angle of his head. i hope this helps

He didnt ask for me to critique it so Im not going to. But I think maybe Ken isnt his most favorite character so thats why the Ryu pic came out so much more dynamic and kickass.

fistoftheryustar: Thanks - actually, Ken’s one of main favourites, just behind Chun and Ryu admittedly. The main reason behind the crap pose is because i’m crap at dynamic poses - Ryu was a fluke - but even that is full of flaws.

Its cool man Im crap at poses too, I cant bring myself to do the stick figures. But yeah you gotta tell me more about the Ryu pic (pm or something.) I didnt realize any mistakes until those guys on deviantart said something I hate them for that haha. But when I first saw the pic in the thumbnail I was like “Yawn another teaser pic put out by Udon on deviantart…wait thats not by Udon.” Take that as an insult or compliment, that one looked damn professional.
LOL, i don’t think many others made that mistake, but i’ll take what i can get. The Ryu pic evolved from a doodle on photoshop, he wasn’t originally running, instead he was about to throw a punch. I like to change my pictures alot. I never have much of plan, i just paint, adjust and paint.
Strange I do that with faces. I cant decide if I really want them to frown, smile, be from the bottom angle or straight dead on shot, or have this kinna hair or that kind. etc
