You backup your stuff by what? by highlighting 3 second clips of yours where you successfully hit confirm sth vs low lvl players?
No of course you don’t need to prove anything, but fact stays that 80%+ of the stuff in your vids are short highlight clips of you doing random stuff which doesn’t work on high lvl
and then you come here and talk like those legit 5k players I have mentioned above are copying you because you are the tatsumaster who has innovated all this stuff?

It is midscreen only you are playing the beta. Don’t have a video setup. Just pick Ken and Cammy. Set Cammy to do reversal MK uppercut then do cr. MP -> TC -> MK Tatsu and cr. MP->st. LK->MK Tatsu hold u/f into j. FP check that it works with both tech options. Some characters only work from grounded tatsu for some reason so cr. MP->st. LK->MK Tatsu works on more characters. Couple things beat it like Birdie super on neutral tech only, EX DP Cammy, and Shoto DP’s.
You can’t always get the crossup option if you do some of that stuff at max range. Sometimes only one or the other is actually safe. They nerfed his neutral jump so it can’t be done in the corner this patch. Or rather they nerfed his neutral jump and I think this is why, this shit seems engineered frankly. Honestly with it i still think he’ll be fairly low tier his neutral is beyond garbage.
Also wtf do you do to a good gief. Can’t throw fireballs when he has v-trigger, he can literally spd you between cr. MK->Fireball. Had it happen 3 times now. Shit is stupid man. Your normals are worse in every way. Guess we are supposed to rush him down?
Brah I’ve been posting that All morning!! Ken normals is not good enough to rush down everyone. Oh boy I hope we don’t have to wait for revision 14 2 years later for Ken to be top tier. He’s a shoto for goodness sake.
I haven’t fought a really good Gief yet, but the best I could do was rely on counter-poking with jabs and the occasional MP buffered to EX Tatsu. The hurtboxes on Gief’s normals are pretty large and last for a while even after their hitbox is no longer active, so it’s workable even with our meh normals. Don’t commit to blockstrings with fireball, just build up the white chip damage. Hold on to a life lead with…well, your life, force him to over commit and punish him for it. And if you anti-air him, do it as late as possible to ensure that you don’t get air SPD’d.
If you do knock him down you can attempt to rush him down, just be careful about it. Especially against butter churners. But his defense as a whole doesn’t seem that great this time around.
But like I said I haven’t fought a good Gief so I don’t know how nightmarish it is or not.
I figured as much, but wasn’t sure how consistent that is compared to DP. Dunno what the hurtboxes/hitboxes are like on Gief’s jumping normals, and according to this the disjoint on Ken’s cr.hp isn’t the best, especially considering he stands up slightly when he does it. Wish that hitbox tool there also had the jumping normals.
So you can do c.MP, TC1 xx mk.Tatsu, hp.SRK. It’s character specific. I can do it on a Vega dummy but not Karin or Rashid.
ex.SRK ender should work for the entire cast.
c.MP xx lk.Tatsu, hp.SRK works mid screen on some characters too.
So basically it seems Ken’s bnb are not consistent lol. Trying really hard to see something good about this character. Right now he has no real gimmick. Like I feel when Karin, Bison and Nash are on you it’s very hard to get them off.
Hm … he can do TC1->LP Fireball-> EX SRK in the corner didn’t know that.
Just tested it because I’ve now lost 2 matches to the same thing. You can’t combo after MK or LK tatsu into EX SRK on Laura unless you do a TC first for the MK Tatsu.
It was kind of unreliable in beta 3. You had to be near but not at the corner or the fb would whiff and you had to space the TC1 or connect it after a cr mp or the opponent would drop too fast for the ex srk to connect.
Can you guys help me out? Seems like the most damaging meterless combo I can find out there is cr.MP > b+MPxxst.HPxxhk. Tatsu. Does anything link into that target combo other than cr. MP? From what Iv figured out so far, you can pretty much only link lights into other lights into a special or start combos with medium strengh buttons.
Im also trying to use frame data to figure out some combos but it says hk. Tatsu is 16f startup but st.HP only does 5f on hit, but it works so I dont get that. Really just trying to figure out my pokes and confirming them into damage
st hp to hk tatsu works because it’s a cancel, not a link. Ken’s st hp, cr hp, st mp, cr mp, cr mk, st lp, st lk and cr lp are special cancelable. Light attacks like cr/st lp don’t have enough hitstun to be successfully canceled in slow specials so only cancel them to srk (hp/ex) or tatsu (lk/ex).
