It would be interesting if he will be losing Forward-Dash to have RUN towards that is much better and make him a powerful Rush Down but it does give a TRADE-IN of losing the capacity to block when Running. Rather than giving him more option that makes him more flexible and versatile while having powerful threatening pressure tools. This would kill his mix game for pressure.
Making Ken a more Carefree Rush Down Character and Ryu as a more Defensive versatile PATIENT Counter part would be a great different since this will offer diversity between in selecting them.
So this would still make and keep RYU as a “VARIABLE” counter part.
Ever since from the 90s SF games (ZERO, SF2, SFEX) even VS games with the exception of SF3 series and MVC2. Ken’s AI and Gameplay of Special moves guarded correctly always puts him into a very risky situation that is very PUNISHABLE.
From his Multi Hitting Tatsu that leaves the opponent in a faster recovery rate after being hit, Even in VS series that it goes all the way up.
The same with his Shoryuken that the the 90s Ken’s AI would spam you everytime.
I hope they Just put the Short Distance ROLL similar to SF4 Abel so that Ken can go behind his opponent.
Im sure it has more recovery than his dash and dash allows you to move backwards. Running forward doesn’t give you as much positioning for footsies as walking or dashing does. Its mainly for closing gap for rush down.
Nash’s teleports, Ryu’s can break block, bison’s allows for teleports for ambiguous crossups + more, Chun li’s increases the amount of hits per move, cammy’s is similar but gives her specials different properties and we haven’t seen enough of ken’s to distinguish it yet.
