Set the dummy to random and grind out the hit confirm, it’s not the easiest hit confirm in the world but it’s definitely possible. St.mk confirming into st.hk on hit will probably be a staple of playing ken because of how ridiculously strong it’s shaping up to be so it’s worth the effort. I’m still practicing this hit confirm myself
The tougher hit confirm is B.MP and confirming into st.hp on hit, i’m still working on making that one in particular more consistent
Hello all I’m trying to get sthp run crmp to work, I can only seem to get it when vtriggers activated and even then im quite inconsistent. Can someone please tell me where I could possibly be going wrong?
I prefer using MK tatsu, more reliable from max range, better corner carry. => FALSE at really max range only HP SRK connect, EX Tatsu is best meter option, go for it +70dmg +80 stun is excellent.
Just this TC makes that I have a blast with Ken, this is so strong, it’s amazing.
Anyone knows what to do after max range CC s.HK ? run anything is too slow, only VT looks like to connect …
I was actually thinking about the st.hk at work last night lol. I wonder if you can confirm a cc before using the v-skill since it cancels so late. Gonna have to test it out.
You can do cr.MP,b.MP confirm into s.HP, HK tatsu.
But if cr.MP is in guard you still have the time to confirm s.HP, however for some reason HK tatsu doesn’t connect, doing HP SRK instead. If b.MP is guarded you are too far for light and most mediums to reach you, and -2 according to f.data. So you either walk a tiny bit back to bait their medium and do s.HK, or do s.MK straight away which will beat most people option if they do lights or close reaching mediums. Then confirm easily the s.MK*.
Basically you have a pressing consisting in three subsequent frame traps, being able to hit confirm at each step with a good damaging option.
*I take back what I said, at this range tatsu MK whiffs, HP SRK is better, EX tatsu is my favorite meter use for now.
Once people are scared from pressing buttons after cr.MP you can reset the pressure by walking cr.MP, or throw, but because of Ken V-skill you can do this at pretty much every step. I love this gameplay, it’s genius.
And I’m only scratching the surface, what about f.HK overhead and feint ?

You don’t even have to confirm you can OS the thing because of the increased hitstop LOL.
Run mix ups between step kick and TK\fake TK are pretty good. It’s deceptive as fuck because the over head comes out so fast. If you time it right it pretty much looks seamless from the run itself. The overhead has pretty decent range too. You can do fake thunder kick instead for the throw\cr.lk mix up like in ultra.
I dont even think it’s anywhere near as hard as 3s, which i struggle with i was never really able to get it down.
To me it looks alot like kof2002 or 2002 um where for example certain characters had massively derp easy confirms off of there up close HK off the top of my head seth and billy kane(his is a bit harder) and yuri had this probably everybody did had this link providing the super start up was fast enough, but off the top of my head those three had super easy links even me and my crusty reflexes could spot if it was blocked or if it hit
