Hair looks fine. At first glance I was like ??? but looking at it closer. It’s actually not bad. Eh, I’m not a ken player so eh. Doesn’t bother me. But that teaser though…looks like necro is next?
I think a lot of you need to lighten up a bit. Would you all have preferred him looking the exact same? A blonde Ryu? Apparently Ken is an American born guy with Japanese heritage, so that’s why his face looks different. Capcom wanted to acknowledge his Japanese roots. His hairstyle is also apparently popular in Japanese culture; he also apparently dyed his hair blonde and is a natural brunette. All these things I’ve just learned and I have no problem with the way his design looks; in fact I think it’s pretty bad ass. Considering giving Ken a go when SFV drops, a character who in SFIV I didn’t take the least bit serious honestly.
I love his stance, attire, hair, moveset, all that. Aside from Cammy, he’s the best looking character thus far.
Anyone know if his st.mp > st.hp target combo is safe on block?

To those who played Ken at SDCC :
Can Tatsu hit Crouching opponents ?
Can he cancel his normals into Quick Step ?
Can he Back Dash from his quick step ?
The first two are answered by current footagea.
Yes tatsu hits crouchers.
Yes you can cancel into Quick Step (it’s a V-skill after all).
Third is unknown.
Well, LK tatsu appears to hit crouchers anyway - I’m not sure about MK or HK or EX, I’d hope so.
Seems like s.LP, Target Combo is now a viable combo without CH.
And i think TC will be the main move to punish, contrary to SFIV where s.HK was a better choice.
There looks to be a double kick variant of a TC as well, so who knows that might be a better go-to option for punishes. After them showing off the tatsu reset Ken got in the reveal, I’m interested to see if anybody will find some DIRTY resets with the dude, especially because of the V-Skill.

On the sidenote of themes, I’m really digging Ken’s theme it’s easily my favourite of the bunch. They fucking nailed it, I honestly don’t think you’ll be able to top Clamato Fever again. I also hope this is the last rendition of it we get for a while because it’s going to start to get over-saturated but god damn if SFV’s isn’t the best version I’ve heard so far.
I agree with vesper that they should go back to the drawing board with ryu, he does seem unfinished comated to Ken lmao
Nah, Ryu seems fine. Has plenty of good damage, he’s just not crazy all-out RTSD like Ken is.
Game isn’t even out yet, and there are still two more betas to go after the upcoming one.
Ken is Ken and Ryu is Ryu. Neither need shit changed.
