I don’t think that something that hits you = unfair. I think something that has a VERY high chance of hitting you, and KILLING you at whatever % is unfair. And watch how you word things, doing everything possible for the win should not be encouraged. I do not feel threatened by this style of play whatsoever. I just find it beyond stupid to have tournaments based on it, and am expressing it. I have no problem with playing rules like this for fun; as a matter of fact I enjoy item acing my friends, but it doesn’t display skill. And aren’t tournaments made for seeing who’s best?
If items take no skill and give the “less skilled” player unfairly overpowered outs to win then where are all the vids of you raping azen, ken, and m2k with star rod?

Doing everything possible to win SHOULD be encouraged within the confines of a game’s rules. Video games have rules already, and they govern what is possible and what is not for you. Outside rules should only be added when necessary. This is the philosophy here.

I never played Falcon in melee, but in Brawl he is a lot of fun to play. He may lack priority as a whole but I think he makes up for it in speed. And especially certain unique levels of utility with items. He’s a monster with a sword/star rod in his hands, I’ll give him that.
It’s just a wonder of whether or not that one moment he shines is worth putting up with him the rest of the time :.
I recall Sakurai mentioning he still had some dissatisfaction with certain aspects of Brawl and wanted to perfect them, but wants it to be significant if he makes a new game. I think he has something up his sleeve, but who’s to say?
I’ve already put him on my ignore list and am about to report him to the mods for trolling. Hopefully, he gets banned with the quickness so that we can get on with our lives.

Keits: Do you know of any sort of data as far as which characters work best with which items? I know off the top of my head that Samus is really good with battering weapons, ESPECIALLY the Beam Sword. Other than that, though…? Also, is there any difference in the way characters throw items, or is it all generally the same?
Bowser is actually pretty decent with sword type weapons believe it or not, he swings them just as fast as his regular attack (jab? not sure on smash terminology) and he’ll put out extra range on them. Unfortunately he gets hit by them easily too due to his speed.
Oh, wow. Didn’t see Bowser coming. And yes, it’s called a jab. Like I said, Samus is broken as shit with the Beam Sword. That actually has a lot to do with her brokeness in SSE. Give her the Weavel sticker and let her infinite enemies to death.
I can’t believe I missed the lols on this. Why was this guy assuming that your character isn’t moving constantly? That whole pokeball argument reeked of so much ass. Ok Ike throws the pokeball down in front of him and Metacross happens to come out…If the opponent knows that Ike has a pokeball he should be aware of the situation and come fuckin prepared for it. Metacross takes a small second to come out…you should be out of the way of that shit by then if you believe you’re in danger.
Anyway I find this so sad…I worked at gamestop like 2 days ago and this guy and this other dude with the MLG shirt on came in the store and I immediately was like ‘oh boy…here we go’. I knew immediately that these guys were no items, swf, FINAL DESTINATION!!! people. I basically let them both know that I knew about MLG and they were talking down on brawl talking about how it wasn’t fun and it was boring without their ‘sacred’ advanced techniques from melee. I wanted to try argue but I could that it wouldn’t go anywhere…plus I had better things to do with the store. I let him know I wasn’t going to jump into that though because I was way on the other side of the fence with Evo and SRK. The guy immediately says ‘Evo brawl was a joke’. :shake: Such close mindedness…I’m glad I jump into a debate with him.
