Man, 56k is hating on all-brawl pretty hard on my youtube. “Entering was a huge mistake”… dude, it was 5 dollars…
$5 huge mistake WHAT??!? Plus all-brawl is more for playing against good players in a not as competitive way in my opinion and $5 is a great price heck you don’t just have to play the tourny rounds hang around an play some random matches as well.
It was totally worth the $5 in my opinion. I had wayyyy too much fun playing All-Brawl.
That guy fails pretty hard to complain about a $5 tourney entry fee. Then again, you can’t convert everyone. It sort of sucks that the competitive mindset is “it’s not about having fun, it’s about winning” since I don’t care about winning (and probably won’t be) if I’m not actually enjoying the game.
Well to win, you have to take what you are doing seriously, and if you watch 56k’s precise play in items-off compared to his sloppy play in all-brawl, it just shows you that his heart wasnt in it to start with.
plus given the fact that you have to play with items a decent bit to be able to play with them not just blow in, normally takes me like 3-4 matches to not get lol killed by items after we turn them on. I find this good practice since ZSS is my main and she has items even in a no item match.
All Brawl was pretty fun, it made the outcome extremely random at times. IMO the overall strat in All Brawl is you must have control of the stage, and your opponent, like regular Brawl with no items, and must be able to keep that tempo going while going for items as well. If you try to focus on straight up items, and not your opponent, you’ll be screwed in the end.
In my match against Keits, he basically had good control over the stage and items, I admit I really couldn’t do much. Also where is that one match that I did beat you in Grand Finals, and the other Brawl vids man? lol
We’ve been playing warhammer online a lot here, and uploading kills our bandwith. I do have them and they will be uploaded at some point. All matches from the finals were uploaded, it was a set of 4 and all 4 are there.
Yeah I just found the 1st match ^_^; Warhammer you say, I was thinking of picking that up, but still not sure.
I haven’t been playing All-Brawl lately, mostly because there’s no comp in Georgia(Melee country). I’d get on that shit with the quickness if Keits ran a tournament down here.
I will be there running one in March at Final Round. Bet it.
Read the elect’s comment on your interview apparently stages are banned because characters can do infinites on them or the stage hazards are too random just like items.
Items are for scrubs who like randomness, real skill comes from being able to play brawl the exact way you played melee. NO SOU…I MEAN NO FUN FOR YOU!
I agree…we shouldn’t let Melee and Barwl have such similarities. Barwl should be played the way its competitive design and spirit suggest.
Don’t be like smashboards just for items instead of against them items are fun and cool, but it is also fun to play without items.
But I know what you mean sometimes after being all smashboardy for like 1hour, I get bored, and bust out the items(no heart,tomato,curry) and play warioware/mario bros which I think are less gimpy stage then sonics, and far far more awesome.
Hmm I hope I can go to final round this year, don’t make me choose between items, and itemless brawl keits. (O.O) , if I manage to come :s.

Dont accuse me of ‘refusing’ to post the no-items matches i recorded. They will go up when they go up.
All-Brawl at SB3 was a huge success, AGAIN. The top finishers from no-items who entered finished on top in items play. What a surprise, rite? all luck, rite? The argument is falling apart. In that interview, I expressly state that no one is looking to replace your favorite format for brawl, but to simply offer something else to be treated as a separate game, and look at how threatened that makes so many people in the thread i linked feel. THAT is the attitude that I cannot understand in this entire situation.
What is so terrifying about playing a different way?

I also don’t understand why SWF is bashing another format when it isn’t trying to take over. If you wanna play no items…play no items. At least by the sounds of it most people played through both tournies. If they wanna miss out on a chance to win more money then that’s their perogative lol.

He put it really well. I have to admit that my interest in All-Brawl is rekindled, and I intend to go at this as best I can. First I need to get another copy of Brawl though. That’ll have to wait for about a week.
