Hmm… I don’t recall him being playable in the Genesis version, but far be it for me to say what is or isnt if I cant recall. Im sure I would have used him ,though, since he is gawd and… oh, oh yeah, I remember, he was. I rescind my thought.

That’s strange…introducing new characters in a non-canon game…and then NEVER using them again in the series.
So, Xiangfei, a character introduced BY the Fatal Fury series has never been in a single canon Fatal Fury game? She was in RB2 (non-canon) and FF:WA (psuedo-canon). I mean, does the girl even exist?!

Tekken is partly based off SNK’s King of Fighters.
Tekken is afterall the KING OF iron first TOURNAMENT. KOF is…well KING OF fighters TOURNAMENT. KOF and its characters came first so Tekken is inspired by KOF, not the other way around, maybe later on in the series.
Kazuya, Jin, Heihachi=Kyokushin style Karate family with weird issues; Ryo, Takuma/Mr. Karate, Yuri=Kyokushin style Karate family with weird issues.
Paul Phoenix, American Karate fighter that rides a motorcycle and breaks ICE BLOCKS in cut scenes = Ryo Sakazaki, Half American Karate fighter that rides a motorcycle and breaks ICE BLOCKS in cut scenes.
