Yes, since it isn’t random if it hits. Jyobin in past the random category and in that “mentally challenged” group.

jyobin is his own tier
Calling Kazunoko “not a bad player” is pretty funny to me. Mainly because he’s not simply “not bad”; he’s really fucking good. The fact that he doesn’t base his game around footsies in no way takes away from his skill. Everybody plays to their own strengths in these games. Players like Dieminion and Arturo don’t have the greatest execution, but they both have an amazing sense of spacing and patience that’s unrivaled. So what if Kazunoko isn’t very adept at controlling the mid-range? He doesn’t have to be if he picks a character that suits his style and gives him the tools to compliment his strengths, just as Dieminion and Arturo don’t have to necessarily worry about execution when playing Guile and Dhalsim.
Why do you say Dieminion and Arthuro don’t have “the greatest execution” ?
And where did the OP get the “hate” for Kazunoko ? Cause that’s a first to me.
Because they don’t, Arturo will even admit it himself. It’s not really a knock on either of them because they excel in other areas of the game that other top players lack.
He’s hated because he’s pretty easy to hate, he’s an incredible player who uses the best characters in the game (that are also perfectly suited for how he plays the game). Not only is he a great player in casuals, but I don’t think he feels pressure like most people do in tourney situations. I would be incredibly surprised to see him outside of the top 8 at EVO and he is one of my favorites to win the whole thing.
He is DEFINITELY NOT RANDOM, though. You can’t be random in the derogatory sense and place high in fighting game tourneys.
JP will win EVO for sure. But I doubt it will be Kaz, Top 8 for sure but not top.
My money is on Daigo on Poongko. I honestly believe Poongko could of taken Fuudo, just 1 good read took it.
Don’t hate the playa hate the game.
Anyway random can be a vital piece to being successful in a fighter as you must have a factor that break up the predictability of your gameplan. That said I think the real issue is that SF4 rewards random shit more than any SF before it, so we get high level players who appear “random” but really it’s just that this game rewards those risks.
…who is this person? It just looked like bad online play. Why is his name known?
I don’t hate the player at all; in fact I think it’s amazing how Poongko consistently places well when he has what I’d call a playstyle too bork to be efficient - plus I can’t deny he’s incredibly entertaining to watch.
I’m just stating that Kaz doesn’t play like that at all and thus the “random” term seems to be misplaced. Yeah he’s still a highly offensive player and no Momochi, but when comparing Poongkos to Kazzies Seth one really can’t throw them in a pot.
To everyone who continues to call Poongko “random” and/or hates on how he plays or whatever stupid mentality you have,
please check out Poongko’s results for the past two years - where he has placed, who he had to fight to get there, and who he lost to -
and then look at yours.
Try to play “random” and see how far it gets you.
People hate Kazunoko? What? I love how he plays.
Seems like you only watch EVO every year. I don’t think Daigo will be anywhere in top 8, and I wouldn’t bet on Fuudo being there, either. Both of them have kind of fell off in consistancy.
I think out of all the countries there Japan is most likely to win SF4, but Korea and USA also have a realistic shot. I am not talking about Poongko when I say Korea either, I’m talking about Infiltration.
Quoting to save.
he’s like the only person in the world still playing yun, dont see how that is tier whoring…
and he beat dieminion 8 games straight on fgtv
That can’t actually be how he plays all the time can it? Almost nothing he did made any sense!
Yooo we got a bit of elitism.
Nope. I watch a lot of them, and I just believe that he has been sandbagging to high-hell. Simple.
Why do people say Daigo’s been sandbagging? Guess he sandbagged last year at Evo too, and Godsgarden, and Topanga League, and etc. I still think Daigo’s the best player, and a few losses don’t prove otherwise. It just proves others have caught up(and best is debateable) and he’s not on a godlike level above everyone else as he was once perceived.
Since I’m here, as far as the hate goes, any player who’s made a name for himself will get “hate” one way or another. It comes in many forms. Overrated, cheap, random, or simply hate for <insert any reason> (no matter how silly) still works as hate.
Nobody hates Mike “Mike Ross” Ross though m i rite?
Daigo’s good, but I agree that he probably won’t make top 8 this year. There’s only so much you can do against vortex characters, especially with a character like ryu. If Daigo had switched to akuma and learned some setups, then I’d count on him to be one of the finalists of this year…but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. I’m just hoping that all the japanese players will know to COUNTER PICK when necessary =______=.
