I agree. I don’t like how her moves were handled. I’m pissed that she lost the counter. There’s no reason why it couldn’t have stayed a standalone move.
I love these guys. They pressed every button, showed us simple stuffs (launcher into CA) and link (Mp > MP or 2MP > MP), the notation for every moves they used, good job. Too bad I don’t understand japanese but even like that, I learned a lot of things.
check your embed, I don’t think the link is working.
Some things I noticed from the ign video, she was hit for about 30% and had full v trigger, with no v skill used at all, I think the way she builds meter, she will be fine. Just getting around to video but from what I see so far her cr attacks look great.
So I’m really liking her specials so far although some followups are still a mystery to me. Her Guren Ken specials locked by her V-trigger; it doesn’t sit well with me as of now but I think I’ll get over it as long as her specials outside of v-trigger are reliable enough on there own. I really need to see more of them. Also, Haunts description said over a dozen followups in Guren Ken mode, but there’s only 7 or 8 listed on the moveset list? So I guess there’s more not posted which is understandable.
I got a question tho. Are her first and second rekkas in one input? I’m really not sure how I feel about that. Delaying her second rekka or cancel first into ender was definitely useful some of the time for mindgames and stuff.
Ugh fuck watching all these scrubby videos. I need hands-on experience right now. The curiosity is so strong…
Well, her track record has been good, can we get another top tier Karin?
I hope she’s just solid high tier.
Well what tipped her over the edge was what V-Ism did for her in a3.
I’m still tripping that they made her a grown woman, continuity be damned
Really hoping that her V-Trigger will have great potential for mixups since her rekkas are exclusive to that now, because right now this is what I’m thinking it will be mainly used for (outside of combos of course) because of that cross up followup she has along with the slide and overhead.
But at least it lasts for quite some time. It was 20sh seconds in the japanese players video, I’m not entirely familiar with the duration of V-Trigger other than Bison’s but Karin’s V-Trigger’s duration is quite good, right?
I actually forgot about that… thanks for clearing that up. Her command list seems just crazy with all of those motions and stuff.
All of her specials are rekkas. The V-trigger is her main rekka.
Theorizing here, but do you think it might be possible that Karin can hit confirm off one hit? Hear me out.
I assume that from qcfK that the P followup (the uppercut) allows for combos but is unsafe and the d.P followup (the shoulder) you dont get combos but is more safe to use. Now normally you cant hit confirm off one hit unless it’s a link or it has really late cancel frames like 3S Chun c.MK. But because Karin has to use the command dash in order to access the moves, you dont have to decide on what move you are going to do at the time of the cancel; you just always need to hit qcfK. Im hoping that within that time through the use of a heavy normal like s.HP or c.HP you will be able to confirm the hit and go into the appropriate followup.
I cant actually remember if was a similar case in SFxT with wavedash and i think Julias command dash as well? But i remember being able to something like that unless im misremembering. In any case i think it’s something worth testing. When will the public be able to try out Karin anyway? Need to see more vids
Eh, she definitely didn’t have the best customs in the game or anything. She was already really strong + v-ism, she wasn’t the best character by any means. This combination was a common thread among (most) top tiers in a3.
Now when you look at CFJ her customs didn’t make her top tier either but they did help, again. She was basically, cvs2 cammy as far as normals were concerned in that game.
Common misconception though.
What do you mean? In SF4 Sakura was already in her early 20s.
Hnnng, those fucking legs. First Mika, now this. Thick Asian Thursdays FTW!!!

Juila had that kind of confirm pre-patch in SFxT. If she landed her low short than she was free to do anything from her command dash.
Ah…it’s good to be an Ojou.
Also a note, one of the only characters in the game with a comboable V-Skill. She has the best of it though.
@3:05 Vesper got j.lp and j.mp mixed up.
Also, R.I.P counter, command throw and deep jump-in meaty lk. Smh…
That throw reset ender looks useless btw. If she recovered faster, she might be able to throw out a normal and fish for CHs if the flip misses. That would be ideal, but…
