I never noticed that Karin’s elbow is the bajiquan elbow.
My favorite characters so far
- r.mika
- karin
- rashid
- necalli
- ken
funny a lot of characters i like are the new ones for sf5!
Okay, watched those two videos; it looks like your go to juggle if the Rekkas hit airborne is Elbow -> Crossup Elbow. Elbow -> Crossup Elbow does not combo on normal grounded hit (it may on counterhit).
Her double kick move is a rekka?
Funny Karin and R.Mika are not new, and have been around since Alpha 3
No, you have three different version. LK just does the upkicks, MK does the upkicks with a single kick (that doesn’t combo outside of juggles) after it, and HK does two spin kicks after it that do combo. They always come out at the same timing
You ass. I thought you were TGS or something…
You could say upkicks are a fake rekka though. It has a similar mixup built into it, but you have to dial in what you’re going to do ahead of time.
From TGS footage part 3 somewhere after 6min mark, the MK (?) upkicks ender apparently is really an overhead according to the commentator. So you have LK upkicks -> nothing for “stop after 1 hit”, MK upkicks for the high mixup/counterhit setup, LK upkicks -> low attack for the low mixup, HK upkicks for the full max damage that’s probably unsafe.
In effect you keep all the choices you normally get with the rekka, but you can’t be as flexible or reactive as you can during VT with the real one. I think it’s a neat attempt.
As for all the fuzzy stuff, I seriously doubt the timing on cancels is that tight that you can’t delay it to beat that or otherwise suit your purposes. The reason being that these moves can also be canceled on whiff, and that generally leads to a reasonably variable cancel window, since the player can’t rely on hitstop. Maybe you can fuzzy MK upkicks though.
A wide-screen TV covered in jizz.
Are we sure they can be canceled on whiff?
I was thinking of the Upkicks as a precommitted Rekka string myself and I’m guessing that they’ve got pretty much the same amount of hitstun and blockstun, so it will be possible to fuzzy them. But fuzzying them leaves you open for the walk up throw. So basically the mixup would be MK Upkicks beats teching and normal mashing beats LK Upkicks walk up throw beats fuzzy blocking beats LK Upkicks pressure beats delayed tech fuzzy beats MK Upkicks.
I do think it’s kind of silly that it doesn’t combo on hit though, but it will probably be the go to juggle if you don’t need V Gauge.
Normal rekka into overhead doesn’t combo either, I guess.
And yeah, there’s plenty of footage of players doing cancels on whiff. Look early in TGS footage part 2 for something I remember off the top of my head.
Good to know.
As for the overhead, that’s because it gives you a full combo afterwards and I don’t think they want delicious RP loops in the game. I don’t believe you can follow up MK Upkicks
So continuing with the theory with mid rekka resets int overhead. Lets say someone is familiar with that trick, whats to stop someone from just blocking high when they get hit by rekkas? It already combos into slide so no one is going to worry about slide resetting since it will be worth it to take the extra damage from the slide rather than take another combo.
The only way i see it working is if the rekkas recover fast enough if you only finish on the punches, then you could go into c.MK or c.LK. All really depends how quickly it recovers and the time between going overhead and going low has got to be tight in order to stop people just blocking high for the overhead and then blocking low for when the window to cancel into the overhead has gone.
Even though I am very glad she’s back and like her new costume.
I am a little dissapointed the way her moves were handled.
Her old rekkas only used when in V-Trigger … kinda of sad when I thought she had the most interesting range of Rekkas out of all the Rekka Characters.
As if that wasn’t painful enough, we lose the counters or command throw too ? More sad days.
Not to mention the V-Skill is one of her old special moves , although it blocks projectiles now and can be charged … I mean … you know they’re running out of ideas , when your V-Skill is one of your old special moves (Like Cammy)
And V-Trigger for Karin seems to be " Getting some of your old moves back " … lol
I like it when V-Skills and V-Triggers add something new and fun that the character never had before.(Like Birdie and Mika)
But some V-Skills/V-Triggers for some characters is just like putting a border/margin around on some of your old moves.
Oh well gotta get used to the new Karin more, I think I will still have alot of fun with what’s leftover and the new stuff they added.
But the Critical Art is pretty damn awesome though … lol …
Eh, you can still do the Hooligan if they’re blocking high and get a decent bit of damage and stun even if stop go low is too slow
Now 2 of my fav alpha characters are in.
Jesus, man, Karin’s walk in her intro. She’s all grown up now.
She seems like a business woman now.
Dat walk in the intro though… She cocky as fvk and they are showing it in more ways then just jumping out of a choppa with the butler rdy. Her face needs work but everything else is fiya. Ono, you my cheero.
(Oh and the laugh, I’m not complaining, I’m happy as shit she here but it’s kinda weak right now please buff k thx bi
