MP Ressenha for normal recovery, HP Ressenha for back recovery. Both safe on block (probably around -2 or so), and links into cr.MP if you do it perfectly.
Have tried to do it in real matches but for some reason most people don’t quick rise, and it is actually quite difficult to get perfect timing.
Yeah, the only way to cross under after an ex shoulder is to reset and cancel into ex dash. More of a gimmick to catch someone sleeping the first time now, as you’ll always end up in front without spending bar.
Hard to tell right now as i can’t find the active frame of this move.
But i see that the regular one is -5 on block. So if it’s accurate, I guess even when hitting at the latest active frame, Karin should be at a disadvantage but the move should be safe.
Charge version is -1 on block so Karin can be at least 0 or more.
Is its safe against reversal moves on wake up? Say for example they try to do a reversal DP or reversal 3 frame move? I feel like its a good meaty set up if you condition your opponent not to push buttons on wake up but if they reversal on the wakeup I feel like you just get hit out of your meaty.
I’ve heard she can be at around +1 or +2 after a perfectly timed, meaty V-Skill. That is somewhat disappointing to me considering a lot of characters got really useful buttons that are at least +3
With the fully charge V-Skill yes it’s possible. I’ve just tried cr.MP, st.MP, JFL, LK Mujin, qcf+LK then fully charge V-Skill and it is a meaty on backward tech. Karin is at least +1 in this situation.
If opponent tech in place, it is not a meaty though, opponent has priority.
This may seem silly but for the first time in my Street Fighter career I’m having issues doing Karin’s dash QCF+K.
But it’s only after a cr.forward and sometimes even after cr.MP.
I think what’s happening is my mind is moving too fast and I’m rushing to get the JFT so perhaps I’m doing the motion too fast.
Does anyone else have this issue? QCF inputs with any other character are a breeze but I drop so many dashes with Karin for some reason.
@InfernoOmni Probably doing it too fast. You have to wait a tick for the move you’re cancelling to actually hit, this hold especially important for landing a JFT.
Practice it in training mode w/ input display on. Most likely you are pressing lk when your stick is at down forward, and you press forward a frame later. You don’t actually have to cancel into the dash that fast after a cr.mk and cr.mp; you have plenty of time. The only real time you need to cancel it fast is off of cr.lp xx JFL as a 3 frame punish up close.
Such is the case with all meaties. I didn’t test it against reversals, but the ones that rely on armor should get beaten since armor is not active until later frames. Ken’s and Ryu’s mp dp would likely beat it clean.
