ohhhh k thx =)
Thread’s been kinda quiet lately. You guys done finding new stuff now? lol
I’ve mostly been working on setups for a cross up dash 2A. If you do your assist off of a lot of blocked moves, it ends up pushing them out too much for the dash to go through so things like IAD pressure into an assist or 2A work well.
Also I found a way to switch sides with ryu assist for infinite purposes. Just do 2A 5B 2B 5C ryu assist 63214C. Combos into chain and you can chuck them into the corner, looks hella stylish too.
Still waiting on a tutorial vid on that infinite…
Going to a gathering tonight, I’ll see if anyone has a capture device I can use to record some stuff for you guys.
Alright fellow destroyers of this crap game, here is the COMPLETE list of infinitable characters.
Their Corner Only:
Morrigan
Ryu
Batsu
Saki
Doronjo
Yatterman-1
Jun the Swan
Both Corners:
Roll
Daimao
Rock Vollnut
Viewtiful Joe
Must be taken to their corner prior to infinite:
Karas
Casshern
Not Infinitable:
Tekkaman
Alex
Ippatsuman
PTX-40A
Gold Lightan
Chun li
Souki
Ken the Eagle
Hurricane Polymar
Also, for Roll Daimo and Viewtiful Joe, to bring them to the corner after the intial (charge move with b xx cr.c), you have to use (charge move with c xx cr.c) then go back to the charge moves with b for the rest of their journey to the corner.
If your infiniting these characters off of the chain (hcb + c, then qcb + c) you can just do the standard infi to the corner.
Finally, if you are infiniting any character and have a ton of meter to waste you can do a rep of the infi, then after the slide baroque into mega crash into infinite again, the point of this would be to kill an enemy before they get enough meter to megacrash out.
>_>
fucking crow…
I always knew Karas would be a dominating character, but now I’m starting to feel a little bad with him being my favourite Tatsunoko character. Hah.
Dont feel bad, every game has a broken character… this one just showed itself earlier than most.
True. Besides, I need something to compensate for the fact that I main PTX.
his low health is still a liabiity
Ummmm karas has around 38k life, ryu has around 47k, so your telling me that 9k life vs some of the most potent combos and setups in the game so far is a liability? Laughable.
Karas is good but he’s not that broke if the other person is patient and makes their openings count. 1 good combo and he is dead, so you must play flawlessly.
You can actually just delay the hit and it works fine with the B Charge all the way through. Didn’t notice that Karas had to be carried to the corner like Casshern though, good eyes.
What percent was used for the baroque and how much meter did they have when you started the infinite?
Ryu assist can actually work the same way as the Polymar assist/side switch, just gotta delay it as late as possible and hit the A facing the same way you dash. Looks cool, but using Ryu/other assists to combo into chain is way more practical.
Well generally speaking you can get like 40 hits on a character with one meter before they build enough to megacrash. But from my testing if you just do megacrash to start the infinite and then go through till ryus dead it takes around 53 hits, if you have 20 percent baroque and start the combo the same way but baroque megacrash after the first rep it only takes 40 hits, at 40% it took only like 24 hits.
Even in context, I believe that assessment still describes a top-tier/broken character…
Heh already use to this since I play Strider in MVC2.

There’s no denying he’s broken. I think that’s the general consensus at the moment. Nobody can really deny he gets away with more bs than any other character. What people should focus on now is how to deal with Karas with their respective characters.
Well for me when fighting karas, I just block. A lot. He has no real overheads to worry about and his jump ins aren’t as good as ryu or chuns so you can just sit there blocking low all day and react to jump ins. Wait till they make a mistake or take a risk and punish him for it.
Really though, he’s still an annoying asshole to fight, but when you really look at it, as far as mix up goes, he’s not actually all that scary. The only time you get hit is when you try to move / retaliate. So I guess it’s just a matter of finding those right moments to attack, and when playing karas, trying never to give them that moment / breathing room.
The scariest part of a match for me is the very start where I haven’t attacked them yet. Normally if I lose it’s because I lost control of the round right from the start. Once I get it, momentum is in my favor, usually I’ll have meter built from offense while they’ll have none since they probably megacrashed at some point, so it’s all easy sailing from that point on.
You guys aren’t playing any good Karas’.
Not really a tutorial, but here’s a quick vid of me screwing around with the infinite:

Would love to make something more helpful/complete, but this camera phone isn’t good enough quality and the time I thought I’d have access to a capture card never happened… :bluu:
LOL, finally someone who gets it.
