kara throws

haha booty wins 100% of the time

after 3 blunts and a nap i firgured out how to do it!!!

RYUS KARA THROW IS MORE OF A HOP THROW THAN A STEP THROW****
replace the word “step” with the word “hop”

and yes it is worth it he takes this big ass step its almost instantaeous you might say.

my recommendation for this is 3 FINGERS ive tried it with 2 but i hardly ever get it with 3 fingers i get it about 3-5 times true ryu doesnt have a signal to know that youve done it right but ive solved that problem

3fingers i use middle, index, thumb i play on an arcade stick

go to practice mode and put the dummy in the corner and go full screen so you are as far as possible (full screen) start practicing the kara throw command fwd+mp then lk+lp if ryu takes a step then throws youve done it!!! its more noticeable when youre in the corner because you get to see how far youve moved away from the corner as opposed to doing it mid screen

when youre in the corner practicing only 3 things can happen when you try to kara throw from full screen

  1. he will just stand and wiff throw
  2. he will do the fwd+mp overhead
  3. step forward and throw (this is almost it but you get this result with mashing)
** if youre doing these 3 things when your trying to kara throw youre on the right track dont get dissapointed i promise after the first time you see it its FUCKING EASY well in practice mode its easy**
make sure every attempt is from the corner
when you do it right YOU WILL SEE IT and be like wtf

id say its a good lk distance maybe a little more

********for beginners on kara throws
if youre having problems deciding on wether or not youve done it yet i suggest pressing fwd+mp+lp+lk from the corner tell youve noticed the kara its like he steps forwards and throws at the same time once you see it i recommend practicing with 3 fingers and finding the rhythm after the fwd+mp

since you are mashing the kara ryu may move forward a smudge (im talking about a minute step) this is not the kara NOT THE KARA!! its a result of the mash (mashing the kara is only for learning purposes only its to show you what it looks like sure it works everynow and then but not consistent)

mashing the kara will get you no where  ************

you cant possibly see the 3 frames ryu has to do his kara throw so you do the input BEFORE THEN and it comes out as a step forward throw ITS ON NOW!!!

this also goes for kens kara SRK the same method applies

DO THE INPUT BEFORE YOU SEE IT!!! i cant stress that enough

happy kara-ing and thanks to the peeps who help me take it to the next level pwuahaha

kara throw setups****
some ways to get a kara throw in there if theyre wrong someone plz correct

after a knockdown play lk distance
after a fwd+fp (ryus sliding 2 hit punch)
a jump into kara range
UOH then a kara throw
say you go for a reg throw and its wiffs go for an instant kara throw (seems possible never tried though)
standing jab,mp can be a good kara setup as well
lastly you can just walk or dash into kara range
this shit has options use them

note: marijuana makes you play 3s better…honestly

ONE THING I WANTED TO ASK

ive tried to do a kara throw in the opposite direction is this possible???
EG. fwd+mp then bck+lp+lk to throw them in the other direction
and since the throw in 3s is considered a special move could you kara SRK or kara tatsu??

congrats greensyo, was worth the effort i know.

never attempted kara other direction, good question… yes, you can kara srk and tatsumaki, even hadoken, as well as ex versions. throws just happen to get the most use from it, and are easier. although kara srk is very very good for ryu because it adds hellified horizontal range. it is vital for srk–>shinsrk anti-airs.

finally, you should have pussy when you want it, not sacrifice SF to get it. as for cannibus, it slows down your reaction time, and you should not allow anyone or anything have control over you. it does NOT make you better… i kick the hell out of better players because they are weak-minded potheads. if you are serious about SF, don’t make excuses and don’t take that path. learn to be strong without depending on things outside of your own self.

ehhhhh

smoking makes you think differently i credit it with learning the kara throw because i droped my blunt onto my arcade stick while doing a kara throw and it came out right it was like god himself slaped it right out of my hand and made me realize what i was doing i dont belive in god but im sure you get my point

as for the kara srk would the best technique be a hold\release with mp?

since you kara-ing happens so fast how would go about kara-ing into a special move like an srk

fwd+mp,hold mp,use the forward input to do srk?
or fwd+mp,srk lp?

and for the kara throw in the other direction i was messing with it earlier and it seemed like i was doing it right but it seemed like it was half the range maybe the back motion in back+lp+lk was getting in there somehow… with the forward kara you can get away with a neutral or forward throw and not notice a thing because its all forward movement get it? but im not a kara master this is just my take on why it doesnt work right

i was kara throwing my friend all day today and he was like “damn ryu’s throw has range” its amazing what you can get away with when you do it right i even kara threw him after he activated the genei jin FUCK YUN

we could bet a few bucks while im high and duke it out maybe around race to 10wins 10$ a game? if youre intrested

100$ loss should make one of us right

lmao, yeah pot makes you think differently… SLOWER.
lmao, yeah i’ll take your money from you. where to meet?

as for kara srk, i use forward, down+MK, forward+punch, because it is part of the srk motion anyway, and the down+MK usually gives the all the little extra horizontal that i need. mix it up with psychic srk from down+MK and you have yet another great tool for mid-range.

yea i was thinking about something like that just thought id ask so i knew what was aiming for i wasnt quite sure how to pull the srk kara off

so when you do fwd, dwn+mk you should continue with the srk motion? and will i see the same effect like a movement forward srk? also i would have to do srk motion mk,lp and the mk,lp would roughly have to be pressed at the same time… its the same timing as a kara throw correct?

i live in florida if youre close maybe we can work something out
ive tried that dwn+mk and i cant get it maybe im retarded

weed conquers all  i liked your post by the way har har

great stuff…i won’t bother trying it with a controller, and i’ll just wait till my joysticks come in…

the kara-srk is something i definitely need to master as well…

soul survivor:

i can do this on dpad beacauce i know how to do it you might have to set your dpad a different way the way i recommend is

(my text dc pad the 4 x’s represent the four front buttons)

x(lp) x(hp)

x(lk) x(hk)

(and the triggers) L=mp R=mk

use your thumb to hit lp+lk for the throw and use your left hand to hit the left trigger it is possible i was doing it today.

lmao at least potheads are funny. i don’t even know how to quote, much less make fake ones. didn’t even think of that, cool.

down+MK doesn’t give the ungodly kind of range that forward+MP does, but it still adds good horizontal range to ryu’s srk, which is lacking. better still, against people who attempt to sucker you into making a whiffed srk by short-jumping (especially yun players) you can just allow the down+MK to come out rather than cancelling it.

no, there is no real visual effect other than range, which doesn’t seem like a lot. (but a fighter takes every advantage he can get). the key strength behind kara-cancelling into special moves is this: you start a normal move that moves your character slightly forward, and when you cancel it into the special move, the new move comes out from your new position. so, ideally, cancelling srk from forward+MP would give more range, but try that motion under pressure from a skilled opponent. i’m sure it’s better, but i don’t have money for a stick, just a d-pad, so i just use down+MK and it in the srk motion.

and yes as greensyo says, if you have a pad, you really should try to pick a button set-up that fits your style. put some serious thinking and experimentation into it. keep in mind also that most tournaments do not allow 1-button throws.

well said you know you liked the quote i dont think the kara techniques fit my game style except ryu’s kara throw maybe if saw some kara gameplay i would understand the concept better i dont think you could of explained it any better though
