Wow, been silent for quite some time Helping Asa move to TX took more free time than I thought. And yes, sadly Asa wont be joining us for games anymore. But, on a more positive note, if I ever decide to go to a tourney in Central TX I got a place to stay. Im gonna miss his Dan shenanigans. :sad:

anyone else playing El Fuerte? am i the only one.

I dabble with Fuerte now and again these days. I’ve always felt playing Fuerte is like a ground version of Claw, with a touch of SFA2 Rolentos style thrown in for good measure. His :r:+:hk: into :dp:+:hk:(guacamole leg throw) is more effective than I thought. And now that I know how to use his :qcb:+:hp:,:hp:(propeller tortilla) he’s been a blast to play as.

Some of the moves Ive learned by watching you play Fuerte have been quite useful. I managed to get a win or 2 on Chachi by mimicking your play style and blending it with my own. So, I guess I owe you $20, as the saying goes?

Dont feel bad dude. Axoim, Le, Courtney, Sean and myself are pad warriors. I prefer pad over the TE sticks anyway. Matter of fact, Axiom has earned the name of Sol-Padguy amongst the Guilty Gear tourney goers. Lol

As youve probably figured out, I work on Sun nights thru Thurs nights so Im good for Fridays, and Saturdays for sure. I can do other nights of the week, but Id have to leave around 8-ish so I can go to work.

Ive been studying Claws combo forums lately, the :db:+:mp: into :r:+:lp:(rolling crystal flash) I was using is actually the 2nd half of a jump-in combo string which is turning out more effective than it looks on paper, so to speak. The hop kick combo you speak of seems like a high risk maneuver, but Ill try to work into my play. I take it you’re trying to tell me to try :df:+:mk: into :u:+:2k:? Or is it :df:+:hk: into :u:+:2k:?

I believe it’s the :hk: variant you’re looking for. EX walldive juggles on the way up, then your choice of splash or izuna drop on the way back down.

I still need to figure out how the execution/timing of Izuna Drop goes against moving opponents. It’s very flaky compared to ST. Like I was saying Saturday, I can do it in training mode all day with the dummy just standing there.

its easy to pick off a c.:lp: or c.:mp:… you should know… i hit it on you all the time… DUH (toss mask and claw- ultimate taunt!!!)

it doesnt matter where you hit the :df:+:hk: just be sure to drive the Barcelona to the opposite corner. the EX-ness makes up for the rest.

BTW- for the guile thing… i got the Super into Ultra down… ask Dione hahaha

DUDES i just learned that El Fuerte has a Quesadilla Bomb EX… it does a TON of dmg even when blocked. watch out bitches (if i make it to a hookup anytime soon)

on a side note, i was listening to a Gootecks podcast (23 i think) and they were talking about a possible ban on Gouken and Seth. I dont think either should be banned BUT i’ve obviously never played a high lvl Gouken or seth.

Gouken hasn’t been terrible to play against, only really semi-grimy shit he has (so far) is back throw xx ultra (you have all day to tech that back throw) and free command parries at 1 pixel health. He has a good crouching fierce anti-air too, but you shouldn’t be jumping in that much anyway. If Gouken gets banned, might as well ban everyone with an easy ultra setup (… fuck)

Seth? Yeah fuck that guy. Only reason he’s not banned is that once you finally touch him, he’s fucking done. It’s like fighting some cracked-out Mugen version of Sim.

That sucks about your stick though. Sounds like somebody along the supply chain wanted to make some eBay money off that stick. I was hoping GS cracked down on that practice, but I guess not. If you’re iffy about modding the stick, I can call Controlcommerce and see if he can do it…

Im not really iffy on modding the stick, i just havent seen inside one yet. matter of fact. yours and BenRa’s are the only ones i’ve seen in person. if commerce is ready to go, use him, you see him more often anyways. lol. if you end up needing a loaner, i have my tekken 5 stick workin great on 360. you can use it, no biggie. holla’
