man, i dont think i’ve ever missed a season of power rangers… (they need 2 make some more power rangers games… I’ll buy them)
I just download my kamen riders and other tokusatsu already hardsubbed by tv-nihon…Not that it often gets official translation…

Basically you get toku, dumb it down a bit for younger auditory and get sentai, then you get sentai, dumb it down a bit for even more younger auditory + throw out all the original storyline/actors and add the multi-racial team, some supposed to be fun jokes, and also lack of events that can affect kid’s psychics in a bad way (hence no one of good guys dies etc) -> and you get what is called power rangers

“Climax” is actually a widely used slogan from Kamen Rider Den-O, the word was said like in every episode, but in meaning “climax of battle”
Not really.
Henshin heroes are definitely for KIDS, with a few exceptions (like Garou). Darker =/= mature audiences. Just because Kamen Rider is “darker” doesn’t mean the target audience is different.
And some Power Rangers have been in fact been darker than Sentai. Lightspeed Rescue has dark elements, Lost Galaxy has death, and Time Force is definitely the darkest of all the PR shows. And not to mention RPM, the latest (and last) of the series having deaths here and there…
Granted, PR starting SPD was crap, as well as Wild Force and first half of Turbo, but the others are quite good.
Karas can be considered a henshin hero, and that anime was certainly NOT for children.
That movie had IXA in it, I wonder/hope one or two more side Kamen Riders get the nod, along with the main guys.
Karas started as an anime/manga creation if I remember right.
The Kamen Rider series and Super Sentai are all considered Tokusatsu, which is live action transforming heroes and such.
