@Duobleray what are you trying to do @cagan yes it would have always done this because it sees this as a hadoken since the end of dragon punch is the same. The code can be edited to recognize them separately
Thank you for responding. I called Paradise Arcade, they told me I can find a list of animations for the Kaimana controller on this forum. I just cannot seem find it. I clicked on a few links that led to how to set up the controller or the link just sent me to a page that just showed the text āpageokā.
Is there an install guide for using standard RGB leds? I want to use it on gamerfingers, and they already come with a hole that allows me to use 3mm leds.
@armi0024 is there anyway to test the board before installing everything?
I connected the board directly to the computer through the usb. The green light on the led, on the board, lights up but the computer does not identify that it has been connected. All also, the Kaimana J RGB LEDs are not turning on. Any suggestions?
@Duobleray we chatted on the phone, shoudl be fixed @KnyghtFall not scrapped but I havenāt heard from the guy who wrote the initial gui in several months⦠I am working on the back up actively but itās taking a bit. @NoodleLeopard I would suggest this set up, peles with adapter boards. 3mm leds do not allow for RGB control.
Introducing the Kaimana Khameleon by Jasenās Customs. Shout out to Paradise Arcade Shop for giving me the go ahead to add a little JCC flair to the OG Kaimana! There is a little more to it that just lights, but that will be released later
I installed the Kaimana with an old PS360, Hori Fighting Commander 4 pad, and an Imp V2. The only times the LEDs (only P1 and K1 are the only two of the 10 installed are working, even though daisy-chained) work is when:
-sitting idle
-inputting directional inputs
-pressing the Guide/Home button
Iām pretty sure somethingās wrong here. And I donāt really know what Iām doing with Arduino software, to be honest (all this program talk is giving me a headache).
Is there an easy way to get this up and running properly? I just want these buttons to light up on press.
Iām building a custom hitbox case, and Iām sold on the Kaimana. Right now Iām just wondering what parts Iād need to complete the LED system. My best guess is:
1x Kaimana PCB
12x Kaimana Jās (assuming they fit on both Sanwa OBSC 24s and 30s)
12x Kaimana wire harnesses (of various length)
Correct me if Iām wrong.
@āJasen Hicksā Also, the Chameleon looks cool, but I was probably going to order the parts within the month. Is it worth waiting for, rather than just getting the vanilla Kaimana?
The Khameleon is pretty cool, but the vanilla one will do also. Your order looks perfect for what you are doing. You will have to play a little with how all the leds fit down on the buttons as they are pretty close, but @vicko and I got one working at Evo last year.
The Kaimana Khameleon will be out in due time. The working prototype is almost finished but the finalization and manufacturing has to be finalized still. I expect within a month or so. If you are looking g for an immediate impact, go with the rev 1.0 Kaimana
Aw drat⦠I forgot to get an additional Kaimana wiring harness to power the LED side. Are there any other ways to non-destructively power the LED side, or should I just break down and pay to ship one harness?
First off⦠cool stick I canāt wait to see it all wired up
I think you arenāt the first one to do this, but I think you might be the first on SRK. Not that I have the historical knowledge on the threads, but this setup isnāt geared towards most fighting game community members.
I can offer a little thought on the wiring for the Pad to the Kaimanaās though:
Use one Kaimana to manage U,D,L,R, P1-P4, K1-K4, Guide/Select/Start
Use the second Kaimana to mange the other stickās U,D,L,R and the three additional buttons. I would recommend using the HOME/GUIDE/SELECT/U/D/L/R ports on the second Kaimana for ease of "thinking about it.
Take all of your buttons/joystick going to Kaimana #1 and screw them into the appropriate screw terminals on the Kaimana. Then using the other sideās screw terminals of the Kaimana connect them to the appropriate points on the PAD.
Do the same for the second Kaimana and the remaining points on the PAD.
An interesting think on the Kaimanas, is both screw terminals sides are electrically the same, therefore no need to worry about one side bing the āinā and the other being the āoutā
If you use a ROCK CANDY XBox Pad, its going to be cheaper and we know its common ground. I do think the Triggers need to be inverted but I am not an expert on this and someone like @Darksakul may be able to jump in with a link to a tutorial or something
As for the Kaimana Khameleon, no intentions to add additional button inputs as the chip doesnāt leave a lot of pins unused. Additionally, the main draw for this will be that it snaps right onto the PS360+ which woundnāt require much more in terms of buttons (PS360+ has a fixed number of inputs).
