Hey yall, I just wanted to give a shout out to all the veteran Kaillerians. Its been 8 years since Kaillera first started and well I cant believe its still alive and kicking. Not even GGPO or 2dfighter has killed it yet, viva la Kaillera, LoL. So who else is a veteran here that still plays on kaillera… I know there are a few. When I mean veteran, I mean people that have been playing for over at least 4 years or more. :woot:

im a vet too but…man let it go. kaillera had its time. its been good to me.but, a lot of us moved on 2df and ggpo are better programs.

Ye Kali was pretty good, especially in p2p, but like everyone said, it pales in comparison to the newer proggies, and since the author of kali, started getting to busy in wanting to make a profit, he forgot about the competition, and how fickle everyone is. If theres something better, people will move on. Especially if you have any intention to charge for something, it better be the best. Good old Capitalism. Anyhow, its was a great run :). But yea this is SRK, its like my sig all the time ;).
Everything that goes up, must come down. Its a law of nature. At this point, kaillera is dieing at best if not dead. It’s been dieing from even before ggpo/2df. It started to go up a little bit when 3s got emulated but meh, thats old news. Well, whatever…we all had fun and and moved on.
I only go back to kaillera for 4 player xmen vs sf. Otherwise i’m pleased with ggpo.

Good times on kaillera with 6p KOF2002. Although kaillera hit the epitome of its greatness when third strike was first emulated. Now 2df is my world. (GGPO is alright). Nice to see you’ve been around all this time Deadlyrave.
Apology accepted, hehe. I know that everyone has moved on, the only reason I hardly play on ggpo is because I cant time my moves right with so much frame skipping. Cant tell if its my computer or because ggpo is compensating for zero input delay. But thats why I prefer kaillera though.
But anyways, all those people on your list are some good players. Ive had fun matches with quite a few of them, most notably Chicken Power in mvc, Heatblazin in sfa3, Chibipotpie in sfa3, Preator Baralai in mvc. Il also add Quinton McLeod, and King Aures in sfa3… Divine, Suprafast, KoKo, Ryu X, Cajun, Bobo Da Homo, Harry Potter, and Vivi in mvc. I know there is lots more but I cant remember their names right now 
I used to the STRONGEST advocate of abandoning Kaillera and was one of the biggest shit talkers here against people who refused to not move on from Mame 0.64(YUCK).
But something changed yesterday…something I never though I’d do…I went BACK to using Kaillera and LOVED it!!!(P2P version…thank you 0746

The reason is, I have a long time friend who loves games, especially old school games. So instead of playing the limited arcade games on his Xbox 360, I told him about emulation, and how much of a wider variety of old school games can be played on the PC online!
First I got him set up with 2DF and he enjoyed it. But he then started asking about more older classic and obscure games, such as Donkey Kong, Ms Pac-Man, Galaga, Defender, and few old beat 'em ups. I responded and told him the only emulator that can be used to play those games was MAME.
So I got him set up with MAME and he now LOVES it. But then he asked about online support, and that’s when it hit me…“Oh yes, Kaillera! We can use that!”
After finding my Kaillera P2P Client and sending it to him, we were off and running, playing the most awesome classic 2d games ever…ONLINE! I couldn’t believe it. I have used Kaillera millions of times in the past during its infancy, but never with an actual real life friend that lives in the same city as me. Hence the reason I was turned off by it previously.
Firing up Kaillera and playing laggy games of Marvel vs Capcom, 3S and KoF all the time against strangers from mostly around the country/world gets really old. But when you have a friend close by and only a few miles away, that loves the really old classic arcade stuff as much as you do, boy does it EVER breathes new life into Kaillera!!
I mean seriously…I never thought I would touch Kaillera ever again. But today I must say I’m glad it’s still on my HD.
2DF/GGPO are still king when it comes to fighters. But for games of the more classic 2 player/co-op variety and because of nFBA’s limited and quite franky miniscule library in comparison, the MAME/Kaillera combo RULES!
I really appreciate guys like IQ and Treble who continue with their excellent efforts to get more and more drivers for older obscure games into FBA, but it’s going to be a VERY LONG time before FBA gets the enormous and stratospheric-like catalog of games that mame supports.
If Damdai ever supports MAME in addition to nFBA for 2df, then that will be a day in heaven

You guys remember Karsau who always used to cry if you did something that he deemed cheap. Spidey cross ups, orbing lol. Kaillera had its run, I would like to thank Godja for teaching me wave dashing and wolvie combos and Vivi for everything else. :china:
I remember Karasu. He didn’t cry when we played, but he wasn’t the best player and he argued with other players in the lobby about those kinda things.
My only good Kaillera memories are playing Chibi once a week in Karnov’s, and getting my ass kicked by Yungmie.
Argruably, the time I had most fun in kaillera was getting people together for 4p beat em ups all the time. Then I started playing competitive fighting game players in 3s and a few months later, it was emulated.
