Kaillera/MAME32+ Issues

I’m running MAME 32++ 0.117 w/ kaillerasrv v0.86 in the MAME folder and Anti3D’s kailleraclient.dll v1.1 in my System32 folder. Two problems:

  1. The biggest issue is that I can’t host games. I don’t even have an option for it. When I click “Create new game,” the next option I get is an asterisk (*) and then “*Away (leave messages)” and “*Chat (not game).” That’s it. Neither one will allow me to select or launch a game. I think the problem is that Kaillera doesn’t know the path to my ROMs folder, but as far as I can tell, there’s no way for me to specify it.

  2. I can load a list of 34 servers, but can only access 2 of them. I can also type in my own IP and act as my own server, but that doesn’t do me much good considering I can’t host a game…

Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

  1. Open Mame.

Options>Directories>Browse

Browse for the folder where your games are. If you did it correctly the games should show under your “Available” tree on the left in mame. Those will be the games you can create on Kaillera.

By default, mame doesn’t know where the “roms” folder is so its a good idea to make a separate directory for them and browse for it.

  1. www.anti3d.com

Try swapping the kaillera.dll there and with the host .64k version. Should give a bigger server list.

First suggestion worked like a charm. As for the second, I may not be following you 100%, but I tried grabbing kailleraclient.ddl out of the Mame32k 0.64 zip and replacing the old kailleraclient.ddl file in my System32 folder with it. That hasn’t worked though. I’m still only generating 34 servers.
