I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the cables for the Kade MiniConsole+. I wanted to get it but didn’t want to pay 300 bucks for all the cables that I wanted to get.
I bought the old ones and loved them. Just wanted these since they are programmable. I also have the diagram for the original one if anyone wants that.
These are for people that want to use their retro controllers on the newer generation systems, such as saturn controller on the ps3
If you don’t want to mess with solder, sleeving, heatshrink etc, it seems like it’s just a matter of getting an extension cable/port for that particular controller and connecting it to the appropriate DB-15 connector if you wanted to do this as easily as possible. You could use screw terminal ports such as these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171850348661 (make sure you get the correct gender for whatever that device takes). You’d just have to cut the extension cable, strip the ends and insert them in the appropriate terminal holes. If you weren’t able to find an entension cable it would be easier/cheaper to find the ports themselves, but then you’d have to solder.
I don’t know anything about the project but assuming it comes programmed you would just have to make sure the wires you cut for the controller are connected to the pins that it’s expecting in order to function properly. It appears to be some type of arduino/teensy type device and since the code appears to be open source you could always change the pins in the code if you made a mistake or wanted to do something like make a multi-input/controller cord with only one db-15 going to the device.
yeah i already have it. I did not back them on kick starter because I didn’t even know about it then. I just bought it straight from his site.
I can solder, I just don’t which wires go where. For his old projects, he would put instructions for the db9 on there but not this time for the kade. I was hoping someone bought his adapters cables and would share them.
You’d be surprised how crummy some manufacturers overseas can be. It took me a few thousand dollars and months to find one that manufactured to the same quality and spec as the samples. My understanding is that @sharpfork and the crew had to make many by hand. I don’t envy them.
I’ve been waiting for mine as a kickstarter backer for over a year to get mine and they are selling them before giving the rest of us our rewards? What the hell guys?
I was going to order it from bruno’s web site a few weeks back,
combined with the snes retro receiver, I could use my six axis arcade sticks on any console, wirelessly, which would be cool.
BUT apparenntly there’s issues with the receivers with multiple players, so I’m gonna hold off and keep lurking on 8bitdo’s forums and see if they fix it. I ain’t got the money to drop $300 on 4 kade’s and 4 8bit receivers and risk that it don’t work out.
I wanted to relive the days of 4 player WWF Raw on my snes with my old kliq, would be sick with 4 wireless sticks. I can’t be button mashing on pads anymore, especially wired.
I wanted to try out 4 player wwf wrestlefest on Xbox MAME also.
But I can wait, at my age, with how busy life is, the amount of times my old kliq gets together is as frequent as a wrestlemania.
i don’t think they are going to release the instructions to make the cables for the KADE miniConsole+. Can someone that bought them post an image of the inside of the db15 cables.
