I’m not sure about instant recognition being a motive for Valle. If he wants instant recognition in SF4 he needs to win Evo.

Shorterm: The reason why is that a lot of the EC people would bet on me vs Valle, so I want to get in part of the bet too. And really, if Valle wants to play me and try to beat me to get his name out there in SF4 in a quick second, then he needs to put up some serious guap. Cmon lets be serious, here Why he didn’t want to play Arturo? Because if he wins, it really won’t say he GDLK in SF4, If he beats me, INSTANT RECOGNITION. If I win? Oh you beat a legend, who doesn’t play the game. YADA YADA YADA. I already know how SRK people talk. How so? Everybody is mad hype over this. All of this build up has to climax at some point; Yet another reason to look forward to this year’s Evo. I do understand Wong’s point about him having the most to lose; people just love to hate on whoever’s on the throne, but then again, being as confident about his skills as he is, why would he NEED 10k as a motivation to play a set? Does he actually recognize Valle’s skill and uses the money as a scapegoat? Because that’s how it looks to me. He played Daigo at GS’ tourney and there again, he had no reason to play the guy, and while it is true that he couldn’t have just pulled out, I’m sure nobody had to pep talk the guy into playing the Beast; Wong himself was curious about how he would do.

Any other guy on that list you’ve made wouldn’t have had the stakes up that high; hell, grudge matches can be all about respect and acknowledgment. Why is it that there has yet to be any talk about money concerning the Gauntlet? Will Wong ask 10k off every single challenger to make it happen? Like EdMa has stated, we really don’t know who the best player in the US is. Wong has the credz but Evo will set the record straight. Hence why, taking that into account, I don’t really see Wong’s demands as justified.
