I did get raped by daigo, and if my random messiah kick was random, please watch the match again. I get raped by Iyo the first round, but everything changed right after that. The whole flow was in my favor, I even said on alphaism radio, that I can beat IYO. So I doubt it was random. And seriously, if rufus is such a gimmick, then he shouldn’t be winning at all…

p.s. Everything Valle stated, about lacking in fundamentals, is true. Footsies have always been an aspect of fighting games in which WC has dominated. And since SF4 is a more footsie/space oriented game than Marvel and 3s, Valle clearly has the advantage; regardless of tournament listings. So, just remember that when you’re dicking around with your “empire combos”.

I normally never come down here in this section for anything, but I’ll point out that Japanese players sticking to one character or being known for one character is a direct side-effect of how their tournaments are run. I have come across quite a few Japanese that know a good portion of the cast but have that one main that always comes out come tourney time. We’ll never know until Iyo and Justin, or anyone else vs anyone else, sits down and has a good handful of matches what the outcome would be. There could very well have been a different outcome if all FG tourneys everywhere used 3/5 double elim all the time, but some of us would like to not be doing a single game’s tourney for an entire weekend.

Justin openly complained that losing to Daigo wasn’t so much a matter of skill, but of difference in that particular match-up; alluding to the idea that if he was allowed to change characters, things would have been different.
