Both Justin and Valle are good at 3S and CvS2. It’s in Justin’s favor but nobody would be the least bit surprised if Valle won one of those two. There’s no telling which one he’ll do better in either. So both of those matches will be interesting regardless.
Valle playing A2 is interesting for free. The fact that Justin just won an A2 tournament against a bunch of OG top players makes it indisputably worthwhile.
On the other hand, unless Valle practices MvC2 all day, we’re going to be seeing 2007 Marvel tactics against 2001 Sentinel/Blackheart/Commando. Unless Justin plays Team Shoto, that shit is gonna be boring.
So … my logic works just fine.
There’s no way to decide conclusively which player is “the best.” If you want to do that, you’ll have to bring out all the games that Valle played: A3, SF3:NG, 2nd Impact, MvC1, hella Tekken games, fucking Puzzle Fighter, etc.
All we can do is make a fair competition where both players’ best games are represented and there is still a lot of even ground. Under these circumstances, it makes perfect sense to pick games that are hype, that have history behind them, that people actually want to see. Valle will win A2, Justin will win MvC2, the other three are up for grabs.
This isn’t a favoritism thing. I want the best player to win. I think Vic feels the same way. In his first post it sounds like he’s rooting for Valle but i know for a fact that he’s also a Justin fan. The current setup is great for the players as well as hype for the audience. This IS an “Alex Valle Exhibition” but it’s also equally a “Justin Wong Exhibition” and there’s not a single thing wrong with that. Please don’t hate on it just to have something to say.
wtf are you talking about, Im saying I want to put a bet on Justin, not give him money. It’ll probably work something like the sanford duc bet where we all gave sanford a piece of the winnings.
both these guys have a good amount of fans and haters, which is why this match up actually works. they both know what games they will win. and what games are toss ups. neither one is stupid obviously. mvc2 is the biggest mismatch, then comes a2, then ST. 2/3 in valles favor for the 3 bigger mismatches. cvs2 is the closest game imo. valle is on and off in this game but he has the knowledge and ability to beat anyone at any given time. 3s though, thats a different story. yes he beat daigo last year in a close as hell match down to the wire, but beating daigo last year didnt mean much (i smoked him race to 5 5-1 for 100 bucks, ryan heart smoked him, hsien chang didnt even wanna play him cause i quote “thats not even daigo”) alex is good at 3s, no doubt, but like i mentioned before, his style is highly countered by justins style in this game. if he pulls out 3s somehow, i will be shocked. to beat justins chun you have to play perfect and hit confirm everything. valle is a loose cannon and plays highly aggressive leaving opening for a 1 hit 50% super vs chun which = gg… not taking anything away from either player, just trying to settle some misconceptions of valle on cvs2, and valle/justin match in 3s. lotta people on here posting stuff about both game that they really dont understand imo.
Your entire first post was unnecessary. you replied with a wall of text simply because you missed my point, you then told me I’m missing the point, and then proceeded to RESTATE MY POINT. You made a post telling me I don’t get the point and then agreed with me.
And then you say this:
Which is exactly what you did. You’ll be shitting irony’s size 12 for a week.
Reread my first post and if you still don’t get it I’ll explain it to you. It’s really not that hard.
So who’s betting on Valle? I see lots of backing for Justin and I’ll throw my cash in too. Watts needs to organize bets and shit.
Blah, fuck the semantics. You want A2 out, i think that’s a terrible idea. I explained my reasoning twice. Plenty of people in this thread were psyched specifically for A2. End of story. I’m so bored of pointless forum battles.
dont change anything now.
both parties agreed and money is up and now evo tryin to put it up on big screen too (which would probably force it to be spread over time, or require an elaborate seup), so lets stick with what we have.
It seems like so many people have a problem with mvc2, but justins record in mvc2 seems pretty comperable to valles in a2, and the rest of the games are close is the simplest summary in my opinion.
This will be great.
The schedule is being made to fit this event in. Justin has 100% confirmed hes down. All we need a 100% confirmation from Alex and its on…so someone needs to get at him asap.
I’m definitely going to bet on Justin on this one and I will thank all of you WC ballriders who will be paying for my drinks/food for free come EVO World. The amount will depend on how much I have in my bank account and can easily withdraw at the time of the moneymatch.
