this is a dumb match. everyone will bet on Justin. He actively plays CvS2/MvC2/3s while Alex was a god in A2/still is in ST but does NOT actively play the other three games at a top level. He plays them, and he’s good because of his skill, but you don’t see him entering every tourney under the son for them. Justin does.
Justin wins free. If we can make this fair somehow (find a middle-ground game that is a toss up) then this would be an awesome idea. but right now I see this as too one-sided. WHy would mvc2 even be included??? thats a joke.

I don’t really understand the mentality of MM’s anymore. Is it just pick two well known players names out of a hat, and GET HYPE!? If I was interested, I’d definitely pick Justin.

I’ll echo everyone else’s sentiment and say that Justin will logically take CvS2 and MvC2, whereas Valle gets ST and SFA2. Really, A2 is 100% Valle turf, just as much as MvC2 is 100% Wong turf. 3S… tough decision. I will say that this match will be a close call, and whoever wins will have to fight to earn it.
None of this matters, of course. Nothing against Justin, but if I were to bet (and I won’t), I’d bet on Alex because I like him better as a player.
Could you imagine this MM on the big screen? I bet Toyota would even get hype if you show them that Rocky Balboa trailer in my first post:smile:

How is it a free win for Justin if Valle has two of the games on lock and only has to win one of the other three? Yeah he’s not gonna win Marvel but he plays 3S as actively as anyone outside of FFA/Japan. CvS2 is in Justin’s favor, but all it takes is a couple of lucky customs and it could go either way. Everyone gets hit by roll super cuz CvS2 is tight like that.
This is gonna be a good show. Ok, so you think Justin is gonna end up winning 3-2. That’s fine. You’re entitled to your opinion. But don’t make it sound absolutely one-sided just because you only know how to speak in extremes.
Out of a hat? Are you for real? Megafighter vs Pherai is out of a hat. Wong vs Valle is the best that can be. And there are no “5 game” tourneys, so this MM makes a lot of sense.
If DxP thinks this is one-sided, how about Wong vs Daigo or any japanese player whatsoever? I’ll bet on Wong.
As the bet was originally designed (A2, A3, 3s, CvS2 and ST), Alex would only have to win ST OR 3s since Justin wouldn’t be able to touch him at Alphas. Pretty big advantage Valle.
The bet as designed now with Marvel, A2, 3s, CvS2, ST, Alex would have to get ST and it would pretty much all be on the line on 3s. This has to be advantage Justin. It’s not totally guaranteed that Alex would beat Justin at ST either. Justin’s come a long way in that game. So I would give a slight advantage to Justin in this one.
If this bet is going to get Alex to train seriously at 3s again and get back to a top level, then I have to say I’m totally for it. Let’s make this happen, people.

Do 2 games that Valle is favored to win (A2/ST) and 2 games Justin is favored to win (3S/CvS2) and then let the 5th game be a “neutral”, but important game where neither has a known advantage over the other…
then why dont they just play the nutral game and say fuck the other 4?..

3s is obivously the only place alex can take justin, that would be the deciding factor between the both. But as of right now, i like Jwong’s Chun over Alex’s ryu/ken.
Unless Alex steps his Ken up, i don’t think he’ll take it.

The only “given” game might be MvC2 in Justin’s favor.

Valle is on a whole nother level in A2.
Not to disrespect Justins skill in A2, but its pretty much free for Valle.
Can I make a suggestion? I think there should be a separate pot for each game as well as an overall pot for winning the whole thing. That way, on the off chance that one of them sweeps the first three games, there’s an incentive to go on.
