I have played Alex Valle before and I personally think he’s a very strong player. He has alot of depth and his execution of moves is very solid. Sometimes I think he is too aggressive during a match, but I guess that’s his playing style.

+1 on the aggressive. Thats his style. You can hear him slammin the buttons on this video. Thats all him.

you haven’t heard choi press short short when doing short short super then.

This match can still happen, but we are removing it from the big screen Saturday night. We feel that Choi vs Justin would be more interesting.

Me too. I still like this matchup better. Valle is more hype then Choi. He took Daigo out twice last year and beat Choi at the A2 nationals when both were at their prime.

i respect the authority of srk staff… but who are they to step in and decide over the entire shoryuken community? alex valle has one off day and somehow that overshadows 10+ years of beasting. john choi is and always will be an amazing player, but i felt, personally, the main draw of valle vs wong would be their conflicting styles. i’d rather see the aggressor vs the turtle than the calculated player vs the turtle.

Evo decides what will happen at the big screen. They have no authority over what will happen at the hotel rooms. They can not cancel this. They can just make it smaller. Plus, Evo doesn’t run any money matches. As far as they are concerned, nobody will be betting any money on Choi vs Wong or Valle vs Wong.

It is just a bad decision IMO because Valle vs Wong generates more hype, and big screen also generates more hype, so they’re splitting this and making it so-so hype. But we will always have Wong’s Ruby team vs DPC!
