I mean from the information in this thread I would be assumed that triforce has top players sign contracts to live with him in his house but those players must train very hard night and day and win or place high tournaments (anything beyond 3rd is unacceptable) in order to pay for rent?
actually it’s more pertinent than ever… Empire Arcadia isn’t releasing it, Psycho Crusher Productions is, so it’s not a pro empire film… its a film about trying to make a paycheck playing video games… It’s more for the general public that don’t already know who these people are.

Regarding the shitty commentary, yeah pretty much everyone i’ve talked to is sick of that shit. I mean sometimes it’s funny or whatever but making fun at brand spanking new players is fucking bunk. I know they are not serious or whatever but if you are a new player you might not understand that and then might not want to come back or enter a real tournament again and just go back to playing online or whatever. I can understand if they are talking shit about someone who will talk shit themselves and that they GET IT, but to be disrespectful like that to people who are in the process of “still learning” pisses me off to no end. Because those people need constructive critizism, not only to be told that they are free.

It’s the story of Justin aiming to beat his rival Daigo, and Triforce figuring out how to pay the bills, and get sponsorships. Eye opening to the public who doesn’t know… and we are not told what to shoot or tell by the empire… there is empire bashing in the film… You can be the judge yourself what side you take, we don’t take a side. EMP DID help us get the footage we needed so we say “in association with” Which means they helped us alot, but we don’t have allegiance to them. Haters and Lovers will both find a side in our movie.

So I keep hearing “getting signed” thrown out there a lot. So far, seems like Justin is the only one that got legitimately signed for a contract now. I mean when I think of getting signed on, I think of pro sports teams, where once you’re on, money is no longer an issue. I mean look at the cliche’ F4T4L1TY (or however it’s spelled), that guy was the chosen one for first person shooters, and made it big. He told a story about rolling up into his friend’s driveway in a Ferrari 360 and saying “I told ya’ so” when people said he couldn’t make a living off video games. These guys are struggling to make rent. :looney: Think it’s time for a change of profession.
These guys living in a house together saying “if you don’t win, we can’t pay rent”, doesn’t seem like the most optimal lifestyle, nor profitable one for their individual futures. Wong is understandable to talk of him at a pro level, his name is out there, everywhere. Where is everyone else?
Many congrats to Justin taking something like gaming and marketing it for HIMSELF to take that extra step in adulthood to a financially stable future. The other guys whose names aren’t being thrown out on national tv, getting invites to host game awards, etc; might want to start thinking about joining the real world.:looney:
