Justin Wong and gootecks to be interviewed live on eSports show tonight

Gootecks knows what is up. Where it hasn’t worked and shit just died in so many games before. We need something that is going to last.

Soooo, I got right on time to listen Justin and Ryan coming in.

Gootecks is doing an awesome job hyping SF, A LOT of important people check Wheats show. Honestly, this is exciting and scary as hell. This is the first game in the last 6 years that could probably rock the eSport world.

Someone is going to do something big with SFIV, you can bet your asses on that. The only point so far on Gootecks argument that I disagree is that with mainstream comes professionalism, and if it grows (and it will) eventually you WILL have to wear a team jersey, if you look at the current state of eSports prize money is not the most important part, it is the sponsors. eSports are just another way to market, and target a specific demographic easily.

Gootecks will be big, he is way to professional, he will not go unnoticed. When a big tournament decides to go ahead and back up SFIV, Gootecks will be in their VIP list.

I was so scared that eventually teams would start picking new SF teams and they would pick people based on something ridiculous like BP on XBox Live or a poorly run tournament placing but I’m pretty sure that this has shed some light on this community that is so alien to so many people.

<3 All these guys, wanna listen a little be more out of Justin

gonna laugh so hard if the japanese steamroll at Evo lol

is Mago gonna be going?

good show wheat. more calls next time though!

Um i really think we have other people that can take on Japan other then Justin and gootecks but W.e

Your welcome too! Great cast gootecks and j.wong

Fighting games in teams… I feel maybe it would work if it was merely a training together/sponsorship thing, but you still acted as an individual in tournaments.

Fighting gamers does have the Ryu ideal… The lone wolf seeking strong opponents for the thrill of the fight, that’s what we kinda idolize right?

Oh, and creat cast. I really enjoyed it even if it’s pretty late at night over here.

nice podcast. i enjoyed listening to it.

Watch out Justin!

Mini Wheat’s gonna fuck you up!

Great podcast, looking forward to the next SFIV one.

enjoyed it, thanks wheat!

And even if you DID nerf him, that’s not going to change the entire bottom half of the cast. All pushing Sagat to being mid-tier will do is put Sagat at mid-tier. So what? Most of the top of the cast has 6/4 in most match-ups. Nerfing Sagat, won’t suddenly create an explosion of low-mid tiers characters.

The thing is great, Gootecks is fucking awesome and a real diamond for the community, but I really don’t want him selling out and basically hyping SF and not playing this game and not beasting everyone at this game - which is what made him famous in the first place

Quite an enjoyable show!

Nice discussion. Hope SF4 does show the world that the fighting community is the beast that it really is.

I dont think anyone would lose respect for gootecks or wong if they wore a jersey…

I don’t think it was so much wearing the jerseys as much as the attitude that was brought up about it, “Do this or ELSE”.

Hahahahaha, great way to end the show.

I agree SF could work as a team sport like Yin suggested. That is how StarCraft is ran in Korea. Teams are for practice but when you are in a tournament (OSL, MSL, GOM Classic) you are on your own, and you cant go wrong when you copy Korean StarCraft. Look at a Korean StarCraft match (recent one) and imagine if it was SFIV.

Songo… why do you keep talking like you have been in the business? You don’t know what you are talking about. eSports is not a underground operation dude, in fact is quite the opposite, they contact you thru emails and representatives. I’m done with you BTW, I could go for 2 hours arguing everything you have said.

Great show, love every minute of it.

That’s what I said. I have been signed to teams and sponsors that just dumped our team and never lived up to their end of the deal and used us as free publicity. These teams don’t give a flying fuck who you are as long as you bring in enough people to make them money. You can go on for hours but until you’ve reached a point where its beyond a dream and it can be real and you get fucked you shouldn’t talk.

I thiink those other esports werent successful cuz frankly they arent that fun to LOOK at look at the oohs and ahhs of the crowd during bar fights it would never work with counter strike or some rts game hell it wouldnt work with soul calibur or tekken for that matter either…

Whether SF4 gets sponsored by some cold steely corporation that dosent give a fuck about street fighter or some hardcore enthusiast like gootecks starts some home brewed shit thats gets popularized and blows up I think the strength of Street fighter will propel it into the limelight anyway.
