i usually go for sweep after CH cl.st.mp just for the untechable knockdown ( on none shotos though ), or cr.mk xx rekkas lol. i don’t know what else to do with it yet. but eh, it’s only day 2.
On a CH cl.mp, I’m still jsut going for c.mk.
cr.mk combos on counterhit cl.mp? Didn’t know that… that’ll be my go to then.
cl.mp, cr.mk will combo without a counterhit. It’s a 1f link.
c.LK, s.LP, cl.MP, c.MK xx slashes should work on most characters. As should c.LK s.LP cl.MK.
The fact that it has NO invincibility is kinda useful to me actually. I’ve learned NOT to use it as a desperation/last ditch wake-up. It’ll develop your discipline.
As I play him in AE I am thinking wow he’s a fun character to play, but then I get into trying to link his standing medium kick into something else but it doesn’t happen. Anyone have any problems with doing that?
Far medium or close ? close can be jump cancelled
Thank…it was “close”
It’s cl.mk. I posted some follow ups to a cl.mk in the third post of the combo thread. I’ve been working on it. x3;
After getting my ass handed to me the entire day, I just realized that either Yang can’t autocorrect his DPs reliably (like, 90% of the time) or there’s a different timing that I have to work on.
Well if no one has put this up here I found this out by accident Yang’s lp palm strike(timed correctly) isn’t affected by footsies and sweeps, I also I think it may ignore other low to the ground moves haven’t fully tested.
After losing to a lot of Yuns, I discovered a good and a bad thing about this matchup:
Bad:
Yun can beat ALL of the 6 jump-ins Yang has, and ALL of his 3 dive kicks, with a well-placed s.MP. It really, really sucks.
Good:
Yang’s c.LK beats Yun’s Lunge clean, even EX ones, so if you think they are going in for a random Ex Lunge for mid-screen or something, you can whiff a couple c.LK and it’ll beat Lunge if they do it
Yeah, the hitbox on his s.MP is ridiculous it even hits above and a little behind him. It is also ridiculous how it moves him forward and is the perfect tool for frame traps and avoiding crouch tech.
Impressive how you used super and had more to fadc the mantis slash.
You know what I just realized I forgot to turn off the infinite super plz disregard wat I just said I thought it was off but it wasn’t sorry people my mistake
Nothing makes you feel bossier than avoiding a normal with palm feint and doing a sweep. Footsie master.
See lunge do ultra.
So, anyone think we should make a thread specifically around the Ultras? Advantages/Disadvantages of each, combos, matchups you’d want to use each, etc.
U1 is better damage, U2 is more versatility.
I use U2 against fireball characters (except Guile and Deejay), teleport characters (for OS) and matchups that I can use it to punish stuff U1 can’t [Blanka (Ball), Yun (HK upkicks), Dictator (Psycho), Makoto (corner escape U2), T. Hawk (Condor Dive), and maybe a few others I can’t think of right now].
If you can’t combo into U1, however, I recommend sticking with U2 for every matchup. Yang has so many ways to combo into his ultras that you pretty much should never end a round without spending your ultra bar.
