Just got SFAA a few weeks ago and

I love it. lol. Though, I’m still tryin to practice on combos and chaining them, etc.

I did wanna ask you guys though. What’s your favorite button layout on the PS2 pad? Or maybe there’s one where you personally think would be the best button layout?

Thanks.

I always play on an arcade stick, not a pad. Pads are rubbish for Street Fighter IMO, especially the PS2 pad. If you’re really into Street Fighter it might be worth investing in a stick.

Back when I played on my DC pad (Same way when I played on ps2) was.

lp lk

^ mk
< > hp hk
v mp

The PS2 pad is a holocaust as far as Street Fighter goes, but at least it’s not as bad as the DC or Cube pads.

I almost always use a stick, but I use these layouts on a pad if a stick is unavailable. Depending on which character I’m using, I’d do either LP, HP, LK, and HK on the face and MP, MK on the top, or MP, HP, MK, and HK on the face and LP, LK on the top.

If I’m playing V-ISM, I like to have my most-used custom combo activator on the face of the pad, rather than the top, so I can get them both with one press. And if I’m not using V-ISM, then I mainly just decide which layout to use based on which normals for that specific character are more useful (which is almost always LP and LK).

face buttons were:

jab fierce
short forward

then shoulder
R1 = roundhouse
R2 = strong

a stick is so much better! I got a cheap one and am enjoying the game a lot more.
Lay out for me is default(I’m a noob!)

If you’re stuck with the PS2 controller the analog sticks are functional, and not too bad IMO. But yeah, the d-pad sucks.

Just get a PS2 Saturn Pad, works great
