Jurisdiction 2.0 - Team Juri (PSN) on Wednesday's, Friday's & Sunday's with me, GrandJuri

My ears rang so I went looking through threads to see who called me (lies lies lies). Ha.

Sometimes sessions can be like that. In some ways it’s frustrating if your the one losing. You expect people to say “hey stop losing… Do this”. I personally get annoyed when this happens. But the responsibility should always be on the player to look at his own game play and make adjustments after a match think back to mistakes, missed opportunities, flow of the match changes, patterns, things you had problems with… Etc etc.

If you lose to Matt and you think “well he has a habit of throwing after a j.lp, when he’s at the last play of the match and he’s on defense he’ll reversal, and dive kicks full screen, how can I capitalize?”. Next time you play him you make him pay and then tell him about why that worked.

(not to put Matt on blast but that’s something I remembered from his gameplay).

The point I’m trying to make is you should be able to critique each other. Even if you’re not doing so purposefully that’s actually the point of reading in this game. In big match situations no ones gonna tell you these things. You have 2/3 matches to figure it out for yourself.

I played a rose player and he blocked my fuzzy guard everytime. I ask him how did he know. He said “you use nj.hp only for fuzzy guard”

But. We all should be looking at each others gameplay objectively. Not what we like and that person isn’t doing rather what won’t work… What will work. Share our views but it’s tough to tell a juri not to do something.

Just my advice. Get on your mics, don’t be shy and question!

Yes, I blame you!! j/k! But no, really, without a keyboard or mic is too troublesome to type using the stick.

Such a good quote lol.

Although I havent been in the sessions like at all (sorry), Ive been playing on the UYG stream or learning a bunch of other match ups. I kinda got sick of facing Juri nonstop. Last really good Juri I faced was Kail and we both talked and it was cool because I got to hear his (slightly insane) thoughts. I saw alot of things I liked from his Juri. Took the replays and try to think of how he saw things or used his tools. Working on adding throws to my game lol and getting the extra damage i need for those hard matchups. (fei, and seth are the ones I hate the most now and I hate all matchups regardless)

My absence is because of college. The net sucks here and I cant do much about it.

I think sessions last about 2 to 3 hours typically. No reason why we can’t dedicate a half hour or an hour to specific things.

LOL Kail just knows :stuck_out_tongue:

I do agree that everyone needs to be more vocal. Whether you’re on a mic or on the chat room, more questions/tips should be asked/given.

@Matt I do apologise for not giving you any useful tips. TBH the things I kept telling you to watch out for shouldve been more specific. I’ll try and do a better job at giving out more useful and better tips from now on.

KAIL! <-- Let’s see if he responds to this. If you say his name in the mirror three times he comes out of the shadows to say “you know, I respect that!” j/k Kail, all in good fun.

Multiple mics are not feasible on PSN. Our chatroom is probably the best we’re going to get unless we meet offline.

Calm down. As Kail has already stated, it’s the users responsibility to advance himself via conversation/video review/training/reading/etc. I believe all coaching opportunities available to you were taken appropriately, and I value your feedback. I’ve been trying to advance myself with questions and training. All weaknesses I’ve retained or have obtained are my responsibility, not yours. Having said that, all Cricket is trying to say is that perhaps we’ve lost our focus on “training”. Also a stronger structure focusing on certain skill sets will enhance learning. And I agree with all of this. We, as a community, have everything to gain by enhancing every Juri here.

Pesara, if you are reading this, this is how you can open up your routers ports for PSN

"
For everybody on a router, opening the router’s ports for PSN will allow for a smoother experience.

Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com

Go to that site and look up your router. Click on skip this advertisement on the top right corner. Then look for Playstation Network, and follow the steps shown there. If you still have having problems, let me know so I can try to help you.

That should help those on a router. Online experience will also depend more on speed and location. Find out yours here. Usually an upload of 1.5 MB is decent to play online.

"

Shake, could you squeeze that^ info on the first post for people using a router?

I didn’t have much luck with the port designations for my router when I tried it (perhaps I read them wrong?). Others might have better luck. I was able to open up ports for the 360, no problem.

Remember you can always fix your PS3 IP address statically and create a DMZ for it. This is what I’ve done for my PS3. Just another option, is all.

Speedtest isn’t really very descriptive of connection quality for playing games, Pingtest is much better:

http://www.pingtest.net/result/47269939.png

16.7ms = 1 frame, so from the test you can get a good estimate of the minimum lag from your connection. The latency increases by distance, so you can easily see why long distance games are laggy. For example, me connecting to NY:

http://www.pingtest.net/result/47270059.png
That’s 8.5f lag on average, with variation of ±2.5f. That’s definitely unplayable

omg I’d kill for that connection, you want unplayable? Get on my level of fail:

I only get green at 3:30 am, and it still fluctuates. Can go to black any time. The best I can get is when it is dropping “only” 59% packets.

I get horrible input and moves randomly not coming out. I almost can never do any of Bison’s 2 frame links while offline:

(this was iphone test showing how this combo ending sk whiffs on some characters)

yeah… -,- Can get mashed to death, tic’d to death, or crossup to death because of input. Also some connections I can’t anti air with or react. Not even with Juri or Sakura who have best AAS.

Dont know what the hell this means, but it looks Solid to me :D. Will add Pingtest to the OP if you guys wanna test out your connection.

It means you have 24ms ping with variation of 12ms. So your connection adds 1.5f lag with a little under 1f variance, when connecting to someone near you. You can see from my earlier measurement of my own connection that I had 11ms + 1ms variation, which means I have a little over half a frame of latency with no variation from my connection

damn 1.5 frame lag huh…Still playable though lol

very, if you are in England and I in Miami.

LOL. Aries the GJ account was made by an English player lol (Shoutouts to the great Mr.Flowers). I’m from Canada. Playing people down in Florida
was never a problem for me anyways

Hehe, yes, you need to remember that test only checks your own connection. The distance (and network conditions in the tubes) and the other guys connection also bring their share of lag on top. But your own connection is the only thing you can effect, eg. by choosing the proper connection technology, getting it from a reputable ISP, buying quality routers and not using wireless, among other things. Kinda explains why online sucks >:(

Im making this mandatory from now on. New members must post their PSN, their location and their pingtest results so that we all have a good idea on how your connection is, I think itll be useful information wouldnt it ? Will add this info to the op shortly after

i need to get back up with yall…I need training…I’m “this” close to being through with AE all together, I just am missing something, and its been missing for a long time…i need help with my meta game and when to do what and why…I’ve studied all these different techniques trying to learn things to add to my offense, but it seems like I havent glued them all together yet…I’m still mid intermediate level and I’m having a hellafied time beating anyone with a consistent PP of 2500 or higher…i dunno if I’m just mind fucking myself or what, but I been real “FML” lately when I play SF…I’ll be around this weekend, I’ll try to get up in there and ask more questions…cause once again, i’ve been sent to the drawing board of scrubbiness when i felt I was getting somewhere :frowning:

You’ve got nothing to worry about Dre, you have a solid Juri. Last time we played, you played better than me. Im the scrub here lol. Come tomorrow or this sunday and we’ll take a look.

i just feel like my wins are so derp, and the ones I have to grind to win or earn, I drop them. i’ve gotten consistent with frame traps (something I wasnt really doing last time we played) and trying to fish with cr. mk, to get things started if I have meter, i poke decently enough now, I think my footsies are good, but I feel like I need to add things to my mixup to stay in the way people do me…I feel I dont have many “setups”, i’ve really been free lately to people around my way at locals and whatnot it just has wondering whats going on
