Ah, damn I need to return and level up this weekend I’m coming to invade on Sunday. Is anyone coming this Sunday I don’t wanna be only soul in the room xD!
I found it on a livejournal somewhere. Unfortunately I lost quite a few of them that I downloaded I could re-find it and drop the link in here after class which will be around 2:00 PM EST.

Thanks, man! There a few images there I haven’t seen before.
Your welcome. Yeah I stumbled on quite a few livejournal is really good for icons.

LOL. The Juri forums in EH arent that active compared to SRK’s. But most of the posts there are from you anyways . So keep up the good work Swag monster, keep those boards alive.
Can we take those icons?
I’ll definitely be in the grandjuri room today for a while.
and I plan on using one of those icons! hah
lololol
Bleh sorry lol got so caught up in school and then Warhammer 40k that I haven’t done much Sorry :(. Though I’ve gone back to challenge and training rooms with my PS3 pad since my sister will be taking her stick back soon. I have to reorintate myself with this until I can get another. Surprisingly I can see I am much better. :). Come Friday I more than likely will be on the prowl for matches just to see where I stand at this point.
Yeah they usually say as long as you credit I pretty much have the link on-hand now to give out which is my way of crediting if I can’t do it any other way.
All right, I have finally got AE!
You keep saying that. And we keep not playing!
I said I was going to get it, and I finally did! But I still don’t know all the things I can do in AE. On Friday I played with Shaka and others, it was a good session
LOL. He was on Ramma, me him and 2 others played for a bit. The boy Aries’ got a nice Juri :).
I don’t know how anyone feels about this (well, I know some share this opinion), but I feel like our “training sessions” have become more of a “playing” session. It seems like we are all just doing matches and not really critiquing, working on things, etc. We should be working on things like: corner pressure, FSE, defense, zoning, footsies, getting in, etc.
Just as an example, you have one person working on corner pressure while the person has to look for an opening and make his way out. You can’t mash your way out, you have to look for the opening to escape. Maybe we should even outlaw any sort of teleporting for alts and mains alike. Once the person finds a way out of the pressure you switch positions, or maybe you switch each round. Same could be said for zoning: keep them out until they get in, and then switch (or switch every round)
It’s something we do in BJJ all the time. One person is on the bottom, you’re in their guard, and you drill getting passed their guard, once you do, you reset and do it all over. It’s very effective. Same in my Muay Thai school. One guy works on not getting hit. Once you’ve been struck clean 10 times, you switch, and the other guy works on not getting hit.
At the very least, I think more advice and tips needs to given. I think the advice and tips need to be player appropriate too. You’ll (not speaking to someone specifically) tell a player new to SF that they need to work on their safe jumps, option selects and frame traps o_O when they need better anti-airs and cross-up blocking.
Players learn a lot when they first come in just by watching other players, but after a while, they stop improving because they have no idea what to improve on.
Maybe I’m crazy, but it seems like the whole point of the Juri training session is being lost. Games during training shouldn’t be played like casual games with people in the chat on the other 4 days of the week. Maybe not the whole training session, but a small portion of it. Some guys like SSJCell, Dydy, Bac, etc. don’t need that type of stuff, but I know a lot of the players in the room need to work on fundamentals.
Thoughts?
You’re absolutely right Ramma. I’ve completely forgotten what these sessions are all about. I mean playing with fellow Juri players is always fun. But the number one priority of these sessions should be the improvement of each player that participates in these sessions. As the host, I’ll take the blame on not taking the intiative.
With that being said, I’m gonna need the help of everyone. I suggest people start giving out tips to everyone you watch, even me. As Im not even that good ;). I mean I’ve been giving out tips to some players, but only like basic tips. I’m gonna need more help in terms of that. People should Start asking the better players what you should improve on too. I’m gonna try and get Quanchi to come back to the chat room. He’s always willing to play 1 vs 1 and isnt afraid to tell you whats wrong with your game.
I guess starting Wednesday (If Im on lol), I’ll be asking whoevers on whether they want to play for fun or have a 1 on 1 session with me/anyone else to work on their game. Im hoping other people start doing this too. I’m always willing to help anyone out, I could even play a character you have trouble with if you want. As long as it isnt a charge character, cant play them. Unless you want me to spam a move lol.
Does this sound good everyone? If not, I’ll be listening to other ideas too.
Nah, you’re not to blame dude. No one is to blame really. A healthy mix of casual and concentrated games is needed is all. It can only help us get better.
I agree with Cricket. I, for one, suck at this game. I understand I’m supposed to play better players to pick up tricks and lose bad habits but when I play the good guys and the fights are just a mix of color and sound, and I don’t get any feedback, I really don’t know what’s going on. They could easily teach a few college courses on this game (and I would probably attend).
Perhaps we could have a tabletop session the day before training discussing things that we each think needs improving in our own game. Discuss why certain things fail and what to do to help it. Discuss ways to train to help it (My mind thinks of Kail at this point as I remember him always saying things to practice on, such as the links). The video thread could be helpful at this point. But casuals are always good to step back and see “what we’ve learned”.
