I’m working on getting the taunt as my avatar but I don’t have a premium account so I can’t get it to work. Every other forum I’m rocking that Juri taunt as my avatar. lol
Ultra II is looking really good and if she has unblockable setups with her fireball then it could be the go to Ultra. Ultra I there’s a lot of potential but I’m wondering about a lot of things with the Ultra. For me, this is the list of questions I have for the Ultra:
I don’t want this Ultra to be a gimmicky reset/mix up Ultra because mash DP’s will be the end of it. Really there’s no point in not mashing DP as you are getting combo’d as it’s most likely an instant out.

I play SF4 on the PS3 so if you want to add me up for games then go ahead. If it’s really laggy though I won’t continue with the session. Come SSF4 I will be playing on the 360 since everyone in my city plays on the 360.
Some notes.
-unblockable still in you can prolly fadc fb into U2, but EX fb into U1 worked
c.mp and c.fp work well as antiair’s, both are special cancelable so you can antiair then cancel into fb store or lk pinwheel to cross under. I think ex pin works as antiair too.
Pinwheels are good, option selecting c.mp or c.mk into them works well. LK can be safe same with ex sometimes it’s really random
TK dive kick is safe at max distance, so you can focus dash in tk dive kick to bait throw sometimes.
close fp is like instantly off the ground so you can use that as a throw bait too and it late cancels(when it gets back on the ground o.O) so you can combo into stuff, also a good antiair into ex pin
she has a lot of trouble up close as most her jabs/shorts are not crazy good so imo fb keep away with smart agression is best
Teleporting out is a good tactic, most of the time you are using normals to antiair so they dont look to empty jump. EX can go up back or up forward but leaves you in nuetral jump stance and is more of a hover than a back or forward jump. Therfore you can counter up forward behind them and come down far with split kick cool gimick
best combo where c.lk x2 or 3 into lk or ex PW, you can also c.lk x2 into s.lk PW for a little more distance. c.lk s.lk c.mk fk PW is really good but if you are not point blank you get far lk so you have to look out for it and maybe input another s.lk xx PW to be on your toes. I don’t like using the s.lp c.mk combo though it is the most leniant, her shorts and jabs have like no range or good advantage on hit and her jabs are even less so( save for s.lp). Seems like most her combos are 1 fame links outside of s.lp c.mk, so go ino training and get your gief c.lk x 4 down for practice…ugh
I think U1 is like 1 or 2 frames start up so thats prolly why she doesnt have a lot of advantage on hit or block with her attacks ( feels like viper). Though the ultra is rather worthless it has some gimicks to it.
Landing U2 is kind or a chore, I think it will take a lot of training mode to learn the exact distances of everything.
Honestly it;s all about learning how to use fb’s as her rushdown is not too strong and mashy jab can beat her up. so having lots of fb’s on the screen is good and using ex fb helps as well. YOu can really frustrate them and randomly rush in with PW pressure or stay back and bait action with nuetral jump looking to snipe with fk dive. Plus antiair fb can combo into ex PW maybe even ultra.
j.lk is godlike cross up hits deeper and better than j.mk wich is crazy cause that one is sweet too. Dive kick can cross up but its hard to set up
Sorry, can you go into detail what EX Fireball does? I haven’t seen good footage of it. What fireball does it throw out or does it throw out 2? Any elaboration on its properties like recovery in comparison to the others?
Ya Ex fb is 2 hits you can make it mid by using mp + hp or low by lp + mp, its the same speed as a released fb. Whats cool is you can launch mid fb’s and dash in to go for throws and whatever while they duck under it. Also another thing about counter is you can cancel the ending frames into attacks but not throws, so you can counter a fb then try to retaliate the recovery.
Didn’t seem like it was fast enough to punish anything.
That’s a lot of interesting notes Magus thank you. Ugh 1 frame link combos, that’s gonna be a pain in the ass, and since she can’t land c.mk in her BnB unless she’s really close that means the damage output on her most practical BnB is gonna be ass.
Anyway Magus, I don’t know how much time you’ve spent with her but would you say she’s a solid character overall or more of a gimmick character?

Seems like Juri’s fireball game might be a problem for hakan.
Ugh, 1 frame links sadden me. And here I was hoping that the comments about her being easy and for beginners by the devs meant that she wouldn’t be reliant on these.

At this point, I’m gonna say any grappler without an effective method of getting past fireballs will have some trouble with here.

Whoa…wait the FB command is with kicks but you hold down punches to release? or did they change the command to use punches instead.
Guys, just learn how to p-link and double tap with 1 frame links. That shit becomes much easier with that. It’s kind of funny how Juri has applicable strats and similarities to Chun, Viper, and Gief.
“Just” learn how to plink >.> If only it were that easy…

I’m awful at it, but I can hit 1f links fairly consistently without p-linking/double tapping so I should be fine. I just don’t wanna try going for a 1f link only to miss it and get DP’d. It’s much less likely with a 2f link but it’s all good. Just need to practice up.
P-Linking is so easy man it takes like an hour of training on stick at max. Just practice Ryu’s c.mpx2, c.RH or Viper’s c.mpx2 link with p-linking. There’s a whole thread dedicated to P-linking and how to do it. Double tapping is a little bit tricky and I find easier on sanwa buttons then other buttons like seimetsu, etc… Like Magus said practice up Gief c.lkx3 for the experience.
