Yes…if the execution and linking is easy then I am happy. All I want is some varied techniques that allow an experienced Juri player to mix things up in a fun way, like Chun FA’ing into a dackdash headstompx1 > jump TC > headstomp x3 rather than trusty old short short EXLEGSzomg again. The flashier one does less damage but takes no meter and just looks nice, often catching the opponent pleasantly by surprise.
BUT in Juri’s case I hope that the flashier stuff is actually better for damage than the easier option which noobs apparently can use easily(if Ono’s claim is correct).
If her counter is as nice as it looks I’m pretty she’ll have some flashy follow ups and over all flashy playstyle: her custom combo ultra, wall bounce ex move (I’m sure it will have tasty follow ups as well), and cross up potentials will make her a stylish character when played right.
Ah I heard one of the people on that stream (Haunts?) says they’ll be answering Juri questions, so a quick few questions.
How is her damage? Like, if you had to guess, how much would you say she can get off a jump-in combo, and how much do you think her BnB link combo (I haven’t a clue what it is, c.lk c.lk c.mk hard/EX pinwheel?) would do?
Lastly did I hear right in that you can do j.Strong as air-to-air -> land -> j.strong -> land -> EX dive kick -> ultra 2, or was it j.Strong as air-to-air -> j.strong or EX dive kick -> ultra 2?
Dive Kicks are unsafe on block but does that apply to TKing them and keeping them really low to the ground? Also, if you opt not to follow up with the rest of the dive kick if you were to TK the LK version can you combo upon landing? I figure it may be frame tight if it’s possible but I want to know if the recovery on a TK LK Dive Kick is any good or not.

we be a TKD tribute if you see the foot in the air as the animation then suddenly crashes down.
I remember seeing AA j.MP > j.MP > Ultra 2 when Justin got to play around with her the first time. I wouldn’t be surprised if you only needed one j.MP and just had to time and position yourself a bit better.

The podcast said that an anonymous source said you can do air-to-air j.mp, land, j.mp, land, EX Dive Kick, land, Ultra. Seth Killian did say during earlier fight nights that air-to-air, j.mp, land, j.mp, land Ultra would work as well. Pretty sexy as is but pretty sure that CC ultra of hers is going to be exploited in some way.
Ah good so, I didn’t hear that wrong. Not sure if it’s actually true or not but eh j.MP is an ultra set up either way so meh. It’s nice that she’ll at least have 2 useful ultras.
It annoys me that her stomp-like move in the air knocks down on hit. I was hoping to use it like Seths j.d.MK, without the problem of being bounced up into the air again, wide open.
Well since trades in general you don’t have to worry about being popped into the air wide open as long as you hit. If it can be used as an instant overhead like Seth’s I assume it will be very good.
As the days go by I cant wait to take Juri into training mode and see what I can do with her or exploit things with her.
I hope we can see a Juri player pop up in top 8 at big tournaments too like this years evo.
I was hoping it was just a beta-version. I was actually hoping for a little more thought put into it, and a more imaginitive design, but I guess it’s ok. Simple is sometimes better concerning these alts. Look at Chun li’s new alt. The thing is hideous imho. It really looks as tho multiple designs where stressed over until they finally mashed them all together into one big pile of crap. Juri could have gotten MUCH worse…
I honestly don’t see how you could… but you’re the first I’ve seen who said they actually like it, so I guess there must be some others who do as well.
