Just read thru some of the posts and my goodness I didn’t know she was this popular…
I was thinking of having her as a 2nd or 3rd main due to her highly effective speed…but im just not so sure anymore (I really HATE being overly popular characters especially online Ryu and Ken anyone?)
I’ll never jump on any Ban-wagon EVER… (I really hope we get some variety online in SSFIV I really dnt want this to just turn into a Ryu Ken Sagat and Juri fest…

Obsessively being “indie” and only doing unpopular things is a bandwagon. But don’t worry, Juri is looking to be very Viper like, and the amount of scrubs who play Viper is pretty much non-existent.

I’m kinda 50/50 on her TBH… Like I said i’d probably have her as a 3rd main next to my two mains Sakura and Fei-Long (which means I’d play online as her only 30% of the time). Seems like EVERYONE is going to “main” main her though which I can see getting pretty annoying after a while (again Ryu and Ken anyone?)
She shouldn’t be too popular; storing fireballs, canceling and zero move invincibility(is this true? someone told me that she won’t have any invincible frames, but I haven’t been following Juri info) will discourage casuals.
As of now, I’m predicting the Viper thing, too. After the first week, you shouldn’t see too many of them; it’s just how people are.
I will be subbing her regardless, though. If she happens to have that Viper effect, then she’ll be my immediate sub and Guile will drop to 3rd.
Playing a bit of theory fighter here but…pinwheel kick juggles on hit, and since it supposedly has no invincibility, she should be able to be hit out of it. Soo…Pinwheel kick trade to ultra anyone?

EX pinwheel kick apears to have invul frames. There’s a bit of startup to it, but between that and the counters she shouldn’t be Rose/Vega level. I’m still interested to see what EX counter does, I don’t think we’ve seen that.
Juri looks like an interesting character but there’s some gameplay footage I need to see first before i decide to use her. I main Baek in Tekken so she’s a pick in SF since she’s a Tae Kwon Do user too.
i kinda expect to see a shit ton of Juri’s online when the game is first released, but after a couple weeks hopefully everything will balance out in usage .
you could be right… but i guess in the end there will be as much juris on the road as blankas / chun lis / etc.
she definitly got the right tools but with her low hp and lack of moves with tones of invincible frames she wont be very scrub-friendly… at least thats what i think of her right now.

2.) shes a chick
3.) she has fancy particle effects
Also of people are gonna instantly float that way to her. But after they start getting beat with her they are gonna hate the game. i.e Remember the days of SF4 release? when Ken was everywhere?

i mean, while juris counter/avoid/whatever move can be really annoying it at least doesnt deal damage 
hitting up that new trial mode probably will be the best solution… just going in there neutral and watch what everyone (incl. old ones) got.

Its all good considering she doesn’t seem to be one of the charcaters that are easy to pick up on. So once the games release I know for a fact alot of people who claim they are gonna main or pick up juri wont be maining her once it drops and they get to actually use the charcater.
I usually pick my characters based on if they fit my interest. Even if they do suck I still play them. lol

Yeah i think she won’t be that easy to pick up so that will defitnately discourage some people. last week i was talking to LI Joe at Chinatown Fair, really cool guy BTW, and he told me about when he played as her at the NYC Fight Club. He said she’s kinda clucnky and feels incomplete so i wouldn’t be surprised if she gets a bunch of rebalancing before Super comes out. another thing i also want to note, though i didn’t ask him, is that he is currently maining Viper, or atleast trying to main her, and from what i’ve heard him talk about viper it seems he loves her play style and in comparison to how he talked about juri it feels like they’ll be totally different atleast in the ways that they’ll be recieved. But i really hope Joe didn’t get enough time with juri to really get a sense of her play style because she’s one of the characters i want to main…if not i’ll just keep maining viper, since she might be S-tier anyway lol
