Juri in v2012

Despite all my cynicism and frustration with Capcom, I’m pretty hopeful for this patch right now. To be honest, I think they are well aware of Juri’s status as a character, but when they went to make AE changes, they decided to play it safe and take a “wait-and-see” approach with smaller changes to see just how much of an impact their changes could produce after the community chewed on the changes for a while. Clearly AE was a step in the right direction, but didn’t go far enough. With any luck, we’ll see significantly increased consistency; at worst, we get a few positive changes and tweaks.

Also, yeah if I understand correctly seems like FSE will build 1/3 of normal meter now which is neat though I wish it build half. Don’t know if building 1/3 meter per attack is really going to make a difference. We’ll see.

Maybe FSE is more easy to combo into now. (when they say “we speed up the movement”) or maybe they mean some FSE normals are quicker/have less recovery.

This sounds like a nerf… or am I understanding it incorrectly? Not even sure what is the ex version of FSE lol.

•2nd hit of close st.mk has better hitbox (used to whiff low)
•focus attack has better hitbox (used to whiff low) <— this is huge for me at least
•fireball kick does ssf4 damage (50)
•focus-able pinwheel hit (1st hit for lk pin, 1st 2nd hits for the other pins) does more hit stun so pinwheel -> fadc -> u2 is possible
•during fengshui engine:
(1) ex dive kick has 3 versions just like non-ex dive kick
(2) ex pin won’t be stuffed on the 1st hit (I’m not sure about this)
(3) build more meter (I’m not sure about this)
(4) faster dash and walk

pinwheel FADC to U2? I’ll take that lol. It’s gonna be even easier for Juri to fish for Ultra 2 now. And close st.mk hitting crouchers now? I like that. Just means better frame traps and more meter building for me.

Still kinda surprised they haven’t even bothered giving U2 a better hitbox. But it’s true FSE needed more help.

I’m not understanding the use of the new EX dive kick during FSE. So now if I want I can only do a single EX dive? Why would I want to do that? Heck why would I even want to use EX dive kick during FSE?

Wow Juri just got real good. Among my wishes was a faster dash simply because that one change fixed multiple stuff. Increased hitstun on PW is better, and now we can actually take advantage of the fact that PW stands them up.Ultra from PW fadc…hmmn IDK about that. Fadc into Ultra from FB still requires skill which is good.

To be quite honest, I’m underwhelmed by the changes to Juri. Don’t get me wrong, the changes are definitely nice ( I’m sure we spoke of wanting to have meter gain and faster walk speed while in FSE in the past ) but its nothing worth writing home about. Also doesn’t help that I never use her Ultra 1 because I can’t do those combos for crap ( though like I said, its means I should go learn some basic stuff now for U1 seeing that its more viable now. )

Its probably a good thing I’m feeling underwhelmed by the changes to her as by the sounds of it, everyone is going to be crying over Cody! Meanwhile, Juri remains a sleeper character.

Misty. Why dont you just…LEARN the ultra?!

Training mode is the best. I promise. Its not as hard as you think. Earn control over the combos. You’re trying to hard I feel.

I’m happy with these changes. FSE got love and…fadc pinwheel into u2…they made u2 more viable as an ultra! Cr.mk>pin> fadc>U2 no fireball stock needed. Hell you could eve cr. lk. lk pin into u2. Glad they fixed FA and cs. mk, nothing pisses me off more than whiffing those moves.

Learn Ibuki if you have trouble doing FSE combos. It’s the same timing (target combos). It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Also, long complicated combos are not what’s important during FSE. A lot of times you want to leave gaps to reset damage scaling. For example, doing 3 short Sekku combos does more damage in the end than 1 big long flashy combo ending with HK Senpusha that makes you waste precious FSE time anyway.
