Well think abotu it. There are very specific combos. For an example. As posted in the FSE combo thread you can do on vega s.lk, c.mp, s.mk (1hit), fireball store hp reset. Think abotu it. if I try that on say…hakan, I might get a far mk and cant hit the fireball store to hit…
I really do think they will buff the active frames on ultra 2 or make its hitbox increased to help anti air…i really do. I dont think she needs it though.

The fei and Akuma nerfs are pretty awesome. No more annoying meaty palm. And fei is actually unsafe. v2012 is looking pretty good. Next week should be even better.
We get our changes tomorrow, they have done 13 characters a day, 13+13 = 26 with 13 left to go for 39. Tomorrow we get our main course of changes with salty twin tears to drink. Im also curious to know how Ibuki, Makoto, Deejay, Adon and Cody end up, i already have difficulty with each of them but they each have potential to receive either buffs or nerfs, kind of would like to see the nerf hammer hit Makoto, Ibuki and Adon particularly hard.
Ibuki and Adon give me the most trouble next to Bison. I don’t really expect either to get nerfed unfortunately. Akuma and Fei getting nerfed is certainly welcomed. Two of our bad matchups just got a lot better.
Cody and Makoto I don’t have too much problems with. But so far I feel like Dee Jay is stronger than Guile in AE.
Just looking at the things people have said. More +frames after pinwheel fadc, Kail’s post. Those make me so excited yet I am nervous as fuck. I’m so scared they are gonna fuck us over. I don’t even know if these changes are gonna stay. They might change a few more things along the way. The buff/nerf list for AE didn’t have half the things they changed. I might just be goin crazy thinking of stupid stuff they could do to us. Like bigger hitbox for U2 as an AA. I honestly don’t want that. I’m just nervous don’t listen to me.
Just keep in mind guys that most of these nerfs and buffs are subject to change during testing (to be quite honest, with Tokido as one of the testers, I wouldn’t bank on that throw +2 staying on Gouki). I’m hoping Fei gets hit harder, and Viper too.
Tomorrow, we pray for Juri to be the new Yun and Fei (I’m kidding. I like her as she is because I feel good about my unique main that few play) and we pray for the Twins to SALT their breakfast, lunch and dinner accompanied by a glass of “whine” and desHURT.
Oh yeah and i only barely paid attention to Akuma’s forward throw nerf, which is actually a massive one. That reworks pretty much all his setups, ever, all the corner unblockables and jumping short mixups, all the meaty palm/divekick setups, everything, notice i say reworks, chances are they will figure out, over time, alternate setups using the slower recovery regardless.
Im hopeful that Capcom does right by Juri. It would not surprise me if they just shit all over her. If they buff everyone around her and leave her the same, I would consider that a nerf. Those Akuma nerfs have me bummed. I hope he doesnt lose too many mix-ups because of the added throw recovery. The Palm nerf just means you can downback on him all day. DF throw becomes harder to land(especially online. I see many accidental DF slides in my future). Oh well, that means more time with Juri for me.
Also, Elf and Sakura buffs scare me. I hate those match-ups with Juri lol.
Hmm, liking today’s changes. Crouch block beats Akuma’s vortex and Fei Long doesn’t get free pressure anymore (and no more crossup ex wings).
Abel’s Ultra2 change is confusing, they say “hit invulnerable from startup until active frames”. That sounds a bit … too crazy.
I personally don’t see the need to make Juri’s Ultra 2 an anti-air. I mean, she’s already an iron wall against jumps, so it would only help against lousy opponents as you’d beat them even faster. I just have a hard time seeing a use for this, would it counter some air special we don’t have a good answer for?
cr.mp and cr.hp are so good no one dares jump at Juri anyway so making Ultra 2 an anti-air would hardly help her at high levels. Especially considering she can technically already U2 anti-air via jumping strong. Still, a better hitbox on U2 would be welcomed for sure. But it’s not essential.
I’m not even sure what I’d like for Juri. I mean there’s so much where she could be fixed or improved but at the same time she doesn’t need a whole lot. I guess giving her a slightly better wake up would be good. Better normals, FA, easier links, more combo potential after senpusha FADC etc.
I think realistically they will fix lp, change ultra 2 and maybe give us another way to enter it. I could see a buff on store damage. Im hoping for a few fse changes but other than that… I doubt they’ll do anything else.
This isn’t final. We should rally together and find a way to show what’s wrong with juri (actual problems not what we want) and get it some play via eventhubs and srk. We can post it as Juris small problems.
There are tons of ways to hit u2, but most are very very impractical and only for styling. You can hit u2 after a ex fireball, but you gotta fadc and the timing is hells strict and it can whiff after a few hits and you don’t get full animation. That’s been a stupid bug for juri since the beginning.
@ the fei and akuma nerfs. They needed to happen. Fei and Akuma are by far the worst match-ups for juri, in terms of locking her down and fucking her up. Fei can just lock you down in the corner with two rekkas, plus he hits like a fucking ton of bricks. Akuma vortex rapes us, we have no answer for it (currently). Watch juicebox abel vs tokido and you’ll see how lop sided that match is. Juicebox choice to trade cr. hp for palm, because he’d be free for mix up in the vortex, but he still got raped by it because tokido knew juri had no answer. for us to be able to block palm while crouching and the nerf to this forward throw, it gives us a better fighting chance.
Still kinda worried about juri changes. I hope it’s like a gouken change, where her fundamentals get either re-hauled, refined or balanced. Another part of me is afraid that she’ll either get too good of a buff and people start hoping on juri, because she’s good, or capcom fucks her over and says “to keep in the status quo of juri”, because if she does not get the proper changes she will plummet in the tier list.
ps. if capcom doesn’t give juri love i’m hopping on that dan bandwagon lol, taunt builds meter, so gdlk and awesome.
