I’m confused. Is the st. MP linkable from lk easier? In other words:
cr. lk > st. lk > st. MP xx Pinwheel can be done easily
A new BNB?
close st.lk, cl.st.mp was already possible and it was an easy 2 frame link. So that buff barely changes anything at all imo.
cr.lk is +5 on hit so yeah you’ll be able to cr.lk, cl.st.mp but why do that when you can already do cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mp or cr.mk? Again, just makes existing links easier I guess.
Those buffs will open up some new combo options after pinwheel FADC but that’s about it.
Maybe I’m having a noob moment, but don’t standing mp and crouching mp do the same damage? If st. mp hits on the whole cast crouching (and it would be a 3 frame link, as opposed to a 1 frank link), why wouldn’t you use st. mp over cr. mp? Same damage, easier link.
cr. lk > st. lk > st. mp xx Pinwheel (3 frame link)
cr. lk > st. lk > cr. mp/mk xx Pinwheel (1 frame link)
Less time to hit confirm, but I would honestly use cl.mp as a jump-in hit confirm if anything.
Should be easier but the big thing is Juri gains another 3 frame attack, one you wont lose by storing a fireball. Wonder if they fixed the start up change under FSE.
It’s the close version of standing strong that was buffed. Not the far version. Doing cr.lk, st.lk will push the opponent too far away so when you hit st.mp after you’ll get the far version.
The 2 normals I would’ve liked to see buffed are: far st.mk 2 hits version being +3 instead of +2 and close st.hk being +2 instead of +1.
All I can see as a use is j.mp/j.mk, c.lk, cl.mp xx hk pinwheel/fireball store.
And a meaty, yes.
I haven’t thought about that but it’s true. Juri will have a 3 frame normal accessible even with a L fuhajin stored. That’s actually pretty cool.
This depends on distance. Most of the time that st.mp turns into far mp which cannot be canceled.
BTW now that pinwheel fadc is nerfed to +6 you can’t do pinwheel fadc cr.hp or u2 anymore but you can still use cl.mp which is 3f. I guess that’s where the 3f mp came from.
EDIT: well you can still go for ex pinwheel (2nd hit) fadc u2 but the timing is kind of tricky since ex pin is so fast …
So we’ll only be able to land U2 via pinwheel FADC if we have 3 bars? What a bummer. I was kinda hyped for that pinwheel fadc stuff but sounds like it was too good to be true.
Oh well, I’m just happy that the FSE got buffed. But the focus attack having a better hitbox is what I’m most exited about.
Yeah lets hope it applies to FSE as well. The speed would be tied w/ st.lk, so fadc-FSE to a plinkable close MP would be sweet. Probably too good to be true tho’
Next patch better have FSE hitboxes and frames fixed.
If they buffed far standing mp to 3 frames it’d be stealing far standing mk thunder, no move is allowed to one up far standing mk >=O

This is a good thing. This will keep people from being cheap. Still. Pinwheel fadc sc.mp is an easy mode link now.
I’m more curious about sc.mp as a frame trap and maybe in fse.
See i was thinking it would be great to use that after a hard knock down in the corner. Sweep>cs.lk whiff>wait (probably walk up)>Cr.mp (meaty poke at 3frames) and if they don’t block well free pinwheel fadc combo. If they block fireball stock, ex lk fuhajin, or overhead. In fse kail you would open an opponent up so easily after that move. If they stand up and block fuhajin you can cr. lk them and open them. If they block high on meaty mp you can over head them if the make a bad read and crouch expecting a low attack. This move opens a new set of mind games to play on opponents on the corner and when fse is activated. Thinking about it makes me wanna hit the lab already >=D
Plus cs.mp has a better hitbox so you can walk up and just spam mp. That button itself creates pressure now. I’m sorry far standing mk i love you but mp is a button all juri players need to get familiar with and love.
For me, I prefer they change the startup of cr.MP from 6 to 4 or 5 instead o_O
I think the change was to help with the anti air properties of the move. There at times i go for cr.mp anti air and eat a trade. The faster it comes out the less chance you have of trading on an anti air.
