Juri Combos: What works on who?

Some focus attacks beat it like Balrog’s, some dip down too much to even hit them with j.mp, if they backdash pre-j.mp OS lk pinwheel comes out which is a great plus side. But on another note…

Now, there’s a way to combo into this regularly but it requires different specific links for different characters. I actually had all the specific links for every character typed out in a previous thread(Purple Escort thread) but thanks to the SRK forum re-design, it got lost. So I’ll go and do it again in AE.

jf.hk, close st.mk (one hit) xx M Fuhajin Store, M fuhajin rel, M Super (midscreen)

-On big characters (except Zangief), you get 411 damage total. (Sagat, Seth, Honda, Balrog, Gouken, Oni, Hakan…)

-On average size characters, Super hits 3 times for a total of 320 damage. (Ryu, Ken, Ibuki, Blanka, Guile…)

-On smaller characters, Super only hits twice for barely 278 damage total. (El Fuerte, Juri, Cammy, Chun Li, Cody…)

And speaking of combos into super, close st.hp xx M Super is not recommended on Cody. The Super only hits him twice for some reason.

This could be really old news but is the fireball store juggling after ex divekick known? 10 more damage than lk pinwheel and seems to land on everyone. Tried it on all the *** chars in the op and it its possible on all of them. At certain ranges abel/guile will require you either walk forward slightly before the leg raise OR kara cancel it. Also if you do mk store -> release it can fuzzy guard them if they tech (extra 12 damage on top of it in block damage). You can also do dash up cr.mk on top of the fuzzy guard and with the proper hitconfirm reactions you can cancel it into a pinwheel for a combo.

Very minor but free damage/fireball store for meterless followups when jf.hp doesn’t work.

Didn’t really test it too much in case this is really known. I only really checked this thread.

What’s up with EX Divekick -> U2. I can’t get to work in 2012? Am I that rusty or was something changed.

This is something I’ve done since AE, though it was weaker than pinwheel at the time. I much prefered having a fireball stored than a bit extra damage. Same thing with a single hit off a regular dive kick. Thanks to the 2012 damage boost though it should be the most optimal meterless followup, just make sure it’s in range.

It’s the same to me. Ideally, you want to do the Ultra right after the wall bounce of the EX dive and when the opponent is at his or her highest point, just before he or she falls… at least that’s how I’ve been doing it. :looney:

I like doing it just after the opponent drops through the life bar. To me it feels like the easiest method to time it.

Once they cross the life bar. Best time.

I’ll take a look at the store after ex dive.

I personally don’t use visual cues, I time it with muscle memory (if that even makes sense?). When I first started playing I failed at it so hard it was infuriating. Made a commitment to get it 50 times straight without dropping it one day… only took a few hours lol

Did this when AE first came out. Never got anyone to test it other than me, but I think this list is missing 1 or 2 people at most. I did the testing for a long time though.

Why is it so hard to do ex senpusha fadc u2, is it 1 frame link or is it just because you have to do the u2 input really fast after the dash? That would be so good if it was easier since she build a lot of bar, and it seems harder on some characters too.

I didn’t ready all the topic so I don’t know if people know it already, but I was testing some stuff with her and I saw a good thing against focus, for example if you get focused on cr.MK, you can cancel into LK senpusha for a CH and fadc the 1st hit and link ultra 2, it’s easier then link ultra after an ex senpusha.

Cr.fierce xx release cr.fierce xx roundhouse senpusha in the corner works against Abel, Blanka, Cammy, Dhalsim, El Fuerte, Gouken, Hakan, Sagat, Seth and Zangief. 328 / 520 without meter, can be FADC’ed after the second fierce (st.jab cr.fierce xx roundhouse senpusha) into 410 / 662. Only works after a jump-in against Seth and Gouken (in which case it does 394 / 673, with FADC 455 / 784).

Tested vs stand/crouch with and without counter hit.

crouch only: abel, adon, fei long, gen, ibuki, rose, seth, vega.
CH crouch: balrog, blanka, hakan, sagat.
crouch no CH: cody.
stand only: cammy.
Nothing works: guile, guy.

tl;dr: shouldn’t use on: cammy, cody, guile, guy.

If cs.mk hits as a counter hit vs crouch it works on everyone else.

cross-up j.mk, cs.lk, cs.mp xx LK Store, (release)

Works on: abel*, adon, akuma*, blanka*, chun li, cody*, dhalsim, dudley*, gouken, fei long, juri, makoto, oni*, sagat, seth*, yang, yun*.

*The fuhajin release combos. So in other words don’t release on the others.

On everyone else the cross-up causes far standing strong to come out instead of the close version.

Without the cross-up, the link works on everyone EXCEPT Guile. For some reason it only connects on Guile if he’s crouching or if he’s walking forward.
