oh god this post is too good. And “get ripped off a second time” made me lol!!!
So it just occurred to me that the nerf to rolls will help Juri a bit. If people are scared to roll on wake up, it means Juri’s corner and zoning game will be that much better.
Get a partner who can easily wall carry in 1 combo and then switch to Juri and they’ll stay there forever.
So I guess there is something good about the roll nerfs after all. I still don’t like it, but it’s just something to keep in mind. Juri will probably end up being better despite all the nerfs she got which is kind of ironic.
That’s what came to my mind. Juri x Lili and Luri x Law has some good corner carry, plus resets (and a re0stand with Lili)… with the punishable rolls…
They could’ve just made Juri shoot beams from her Feng Shui Engine.
I approve of this idea, someone get it on the twitters!
Meh.
That Anime of Juri is what made me want to learn her in SSF4. She rocked everyone she fought in that short film.
So just how punishable will rolls be now?
I felt they were fairly punishable before with the occassional miss time they could really only block or get counter hit/trade depending on the situation.
but if they are easier to punish now you’ll likely only see noobies trying to use it. I personally tried not to make it habit unless an obvious jump-in/cross up attempt was being made.
If I’m understanding it correctly, the last 7F of the roll have a hurtbox now. So once the animation is completed you’re still able to reversal and all that, but the 7F right before that, completely vulnerable except to throws.
Could lead to some sick stuff. Hopefully it doesn’t completely nullify rolls - I don’t think it will overall.
If Tekken x Streetfighter ever materializes, that could be cool if Juri is included. She would be the only SF character with a devil beam-ish attack.
Speaking of moves I wish she had, i always wondered what it be like if she had a move that was just a fuhajin store, but it didnt actually store a fuhajin and instead had really good startup frames and priority making it good for a wake up move. It could also be used for mind games when zoning zangief and such. You could use it after actually storing one fireball and the opponent would have to question whether or not you actually have two fireballs, just one, or any at all.
Man I hope Tekken x SF has Juri in it. It has to right? Her character design is just too awesome! And if TTT2 is any indication of what TxSF will be like, then I look forward to learning Juri’s 3-4 stances, command grabs and 200 moves.
Also wouldn’t mind having her character panels drawn by Junny and Shunya Yamashita.
And I can already picture myself dressing Juri up to look like a clown. #Kappa
T x SF
Oh man I can’t wait to see something from this game.
Juri has to be in it and honestly I’m hoping for C.Viper to make it in as well.
TTT2 looks really good but also looks kinda flat to me at times, I certainly think there is plenty room they can expand on the visuals
Harada did say awhile back he had seen some work form the art department and commented on twitter that they girl characters will be very cute.
If they are anything like DOA5s models, I’ll be tickled pink. those models are amazing and tons of cool details in the costumes.
DOA5s stages are absolutely sick as well.
It’s her debut, so that kind of curbstomping is expected in order to establish her as a legitimate threat. I remember C. Viper getting the treatment when she singlehandedly beat Cammy’s ass. Expect the likes of Chun-li, Guile, and Cammy to be the victims.
Yeah Chun Li, Guile and Cammy are sort of the worlds elite task force for any situation

I’m currently watching the Juri episode of the SSFIV anime. Boy, those three worfs are shown like badasses in the intro. Predictably they’ll become Juri fodder in this picture.
Thats exactly what i’ve been thinking too. She’s the first established female villain in the series. I can’t imagine them tossing her. The fact that she appeared in SFxT gave me hope that she’s here to stay.
I honestly think that they kinda have to have rivals who use the same fighting style in crossover games. She has that in Hwoarang.
So after a few mintues of searching online I found it and rewatched.
Love the Juri vs Chun part for obvious reasons. I sure would love to cancel Chun’s hasanshu into Spinning bird kick like she does in the anime, haha!
I also want that massive FSE charged round house for Juri.
Guile’s face is hilarious in that fight too - Juri dashes up on him all juiced up and he’s like "Dat DASH!"
Cammy just stands by like “I ain’t fighting this pyscho bitch”, Sadly Cammy was a tough match up for me in SSF4 with Juri. I never got a good grasp on it.
I dont see why she couldn’t have the purple aura in game while her eye is on. They could obviously do that effect because oni has it. That shit would be amazing and just make her look even more like a complete badass.
According to the SF Wiki, Juri’s Feng Shui Engine can’t stay activated for long periods. When Juri’s about to kill Chun-li in the anime her Feng Shui Engine got busted. Perhaps that’s the logical explanation why she can’t go superspeed ingame at all times. Her “toy” is just a prototype, after all. Juri’s so strong in the anime that only her focus attacks are enough to beat the trio. o_O
Seth did run some maintenance on it though and fixed it up though. I think when she’s fighting and has the purple eye trail its always on, but its running at low power. Its when she revs it up with the amazing speed boosts with that powerful aura that its “activated”. Think of it like an idling computer, then all of the sudden its using more cpu. Using it too much at that high performance probably stresses on it. But it seemed to be fine after it got fixed up after the Chun encounter, so who knows. Still probably not a good idea for her to go ham, bacon, egg, and cheese on rye for extended periods. Not worth the risk. Besides, we all know she doesn’t need to rely on it to kick some ass amirite? Its just nice for her to add some extra kick to her…kicks. :woot:
I wish Juri was actually as good in SSF4 as she is in that short anime. The Juri in the anime is obviously vanilla SfxT Juri </3
