hey i hate being a bitch, but i just got an intuos3 6x8 tablet and i want to really try to imporve my digital skills.
any chance you can save your color job every few steps upload them and give a few words to your process?
i ask because i really enjoy your coloring, and i’m pretty good with a pencil, as i see you are, and i would love to see the transition your drawing goes through.
i know it’s a large request as it would be a load of work on you, so if you can’t do it i understand, but i personally would LOVE to see it.
specifically i beging to lose line quality after the scan, then i dunno…it all goes to hell after that.

I’ll be honest… I draw pretty flat, and never realized my mistakes until I colored other artists work and saw what I needed to improve on. I’m still a bit awful, but I could recommend some ish. Color some of Joe Mad’s work, or try eyedropping some pro works, and pay close attention to the way they use their tones hues contrasts, strokes etc. Umm… I COULD put up some psd files on a server, but it probably won’t be TOO much help since I mainly work on one layer anyway. I could try posting files with painted over lines if you want? Lemme know man.

lovely colours as always, but is it me or is the side of Ryu’s head is a bit too bright? Even if there was another light source there it’d spill over to his neck, gi, etc.

Ooh damn, nice pick Rook! The side of his face was kinda one of those ‘Ikeno Double Impact’ sorta influences, it clashes pretty bad with the overall scheme, I know, I just couldn’t help myself for some reason. Thanks alot, man. You’re always keepin me sharp dood! :tup:
